The greatest leaders and founders are sagacious, but really simple-minded.The most important scholars are also not fully developed.The most wonderful things never take shape.In the world there are definite limits.The most prominent people are far from everyone else, and are not fit to be the subject of anyone.At home, the social group should be like a bellows:There are parts where we feel ourselves moving, and parts where we feel like we are still.There are parts where we feel that we are melting, and parts where we feel the point of contact.In this way the social group functions as a bellows, and produces great effects.The social group may be called the engine of the universe.There are some who are just, and should be controlled by others.There are some who are calculated, and should be followed by others.There are some who are passive, and should be encouraged by others.The true follower stays calm in the midst of the noise and strife.
<|endoftext|>
Great leaders are not shrewd, are not clever, and are not shrewd, while those who are in the "lawn" are not clever, are not shrewd, and are not clever.
The great rulers are not so clever.
As for those who are clever they are not clever, and those who are not clever are not so clever.
The great poets are not clever.
There are those who are clever but not clever, and those who are not so clever.
There are those who are clever, but are not clever.
There are those who are clever, but are not so clever.
There is something that is happening, and there is something that is not happening,
and there is something that is happening, and there is something that is not happening.
The social group is shaped to move, and the social group is shaped to remain in its place.
The social group is shaped to generate great results, and it is shaped to be harmonious with Nature.
The Great Leader is the great steward of the way, not the great steward of the people.
<|endoftext|>
The great leaders are not wise, but are not clever;
The great scholars are not abstract, but are clever;
The great things are not formed into a part of a part,
but are fashioned from something.
There is a time when things grow from a common root,

All living creatures are divided by (u) life. There is one lowercase living creature (U). There are more uppercases of life. There are more lowercase living creatures (I). There is something (disappeared) further along (The way). There is something (disappeared) further along (The way). Something further on to the left (From that which we call the highest) is to be regarded as a wind-blown ox. Something further on to the right (from that which we call the lowest) is to be regarded as a roaring cow. Something further on to the left (from that which we call the highest) is to be regarded as a tailing animal. The more the lowercase is the higher the creature (to which the lowercase is) elevated.The more the upper case is the lower the creature (to which the middle is) elevated.Since heaven and earth are impartial, they regard everything as straw dogs.The four thousand worlds are impartial, they regard everyone as straw dogs.By Heaven and Earth's quiet action, there is something (tried) further on.By the actions of beings to whom life is attached, there is something (tried) further on.The more action is made, the more there is (becomes)! As one moves the larger the space.

The myriad things share one breath (period).
The six-legged thing, Which has four legs, Is considered as straw,
The myriad things having the root, Who has the myriad things therein, Is considered as a carriage.
That in which is stands as a bellows is a fish.
That in which has its left be included in a cock is a boar.
All these things have an existence beyond their origin.
We speak of their being 'stretched'.
But where this in which stands is considered as the crow-barrow
Is a state that is far superior.
<|endoftext|>
All living things are made up of different components: their breath or movement, their water or food, their clothes or noise, their mind or stone.
So a man made up of the same four components can use all four, sometimes different in content.
The parts of a man are the same: the bodily is where the mind is.
When a man dies, he leaves this.
He doesn't have to follow this path to fulfil his purpose

<|endoftext|>
Knowing the old, One can know the new.
How great is Tao?
As big as the Earth!
Uncarved it will be small.
Uncarved it will be solid.
Without shape or name it moves everywhere!
It is made from many things,
Each of them has a destiny!
To know their destiny is to be a great person.
To know the destiny of many is to be of the world.
To know the destiny of the world is to be of Heaven.
A wide, yet it moves slowly;
Thick and bright, but it is without form.
It is between Heaven and Earth,
Not as great as the Earth!
For heaven and earth, the spaces are like bellowss:
The shape changes, but it is the unformed that remain.
Too much is talked of in the direction of progress,
Too much of thought will exhaust itself.
Know that Heaven and Earth are as much Tao as the Earth;
Learn to choose between Heaven and Earth.
Knowing the destiny of Heaven and Earth,
Do not worry about the fate of Earth.
<|endoftext|>
Knowing the past is also knowing the future.
As BIG as the earth?
As small as the clouds?
Reach for clarity, then you can see the pattern.
The hollow, the fluff, the carved shapes that move in myriad directions -
That's the pattern in the void:
A cloud would change shape, only if held tight within a wall.
So the patterns of nature flow together;
They're shaped together, all the way!
Simple yet purposeful.
We don't seek quick results,
We embrace long, deep processes.
<|endoftext|>
Knowing the past is also knowing the present.
As BIG as the Earth is, so small is Nature.
Uncarved into its various minutiae, it seems to fit effortlessly within our possession.
Who else can put them together, yet still maintain their clarity?
Thus (text) can one begin the study of Nature.
In the course of time one may try to comprehend Nature's myriad patterns;
And so one can begin to understand Nature's co-ordination.
<|endoftext|>
What you know
======================================== SAMPLE 4 ========================================
<|endoftext|>
The universe is so simple, yet it doesn't change.
One wonders if it could ever get too simple,
For Heaven is so great and yet it doesn't seem to grow;
One wonders if it could ever get too big,
For Earth is so big and yet it doesn't seem to shrink;
One wonders if it could ever get too small,
For All Things are so expansive,
Yet it seems they can't be encompassed;
One wonders if it could ever get too close,
For all things are so far apart,
Yet there is nothing for them to return to.
Unchanging, moving endlessly,
it brings no benefits.
<|endoftext|>
This is what the subtle Way is:It may be unfathomable,Yet in it you can be completely yourself;It may be infinitely limitless,Yet you will not return to the past;It may be perfect yet you do not get enough;It may be perfect yet everything is flimsy;It may be perfect yet you are missing everything;It may be imperfect yet everything comes out of itself;It may be perfect yet you gain nothing;And it may be perfectly imperfect yet all things arise out of each other;It may be perfect yet all things are intermingled;It may be perfect yet nothing is different from the universal middle;It may be perfectly perfect yet you are free from all limitations.
<|endoftext|>
Nature abhors extremes,It prefers simplicity.Therefore, perfect man is of the same nature as other men,He receives all things, without dwelling on them, while being free from thinking, so he finds no merit in his achievements,But while indulging his desires, he is not satisfied.Thus he gets nothing but what he needs.
<|endoftext|>
Nature's extreme indifference can be likened to the contrast between old and new. The old cannot be looked at anymore.But the thing between (the old and the new) cannot be looked at. The old may be regarded as knowing what they don't yet know, without doing any extra learning.The thing between (the old and the new) is also known, without performing any extra learning.In between the old and the new there is nothing, there is nothing! That is the distinction between what is and what should be.
<|endoftext|>

======================================== SAMPLE 5 ========================================

All things are of a common origin, of a common nature.In accordance with this common origin, they are formless.In accordance with their nature they are nameless.In accordance with their nature they are infinite.In accordance with their nature they are obscure.In accordance with their nature they are strong.In accordance with their nature they are luminous.In accordance with their nature they exist.
<|endoftext|>
Nature is Like a channel for water - a subtle conduit for truth, all-pervading and inexhaustible.It flows in a gentle continuum from the lowest level of Infinity to the highest like a deep river.It is ever flowing and never stopping, flowing from the origin to the source, and flowing to the furthest reaches of the Infinite, and in turn returning to the source.
<|endoftext|>
A man of fine tastes is without a single end to him. He does not spare himself, in order to be at one with the world, in order to be distinguished by it, in order to attract it. In order to be virtuous he does not rediscover the senses, but returns to them. He does not love his food, because it is nourishing the body, but returns to it.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven is like a channel for water. The way of nature is subtle and it cannot be understood. Being subtle, it is like water. The way of nature is without a beginning. Being without a beginning, it is infinite. Being infinite, it is bright. Being bright, it is luminous. Being luminous, it is long lasting. It is like a bellows. It is like a valley.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is like a channel for water.
The world is like a pond for water.
The way of the universe is like a channel for water.
It flows like a river into the heaven and back to the senses.
It is eternal and endless.
The reason it is eternal and infinite is because it is invisible.
The reason it is invisible is because it is the infinite.
It is eternal and infinite because it is void.
It is void and eternal because it is clear.
It is ever-present and eternal because it is present.

Heaven is a channel to the flow of water.

When the sky becomes clear and clear it becomes empty. When the earth becomes empty and boring, it becomes full. A flower of eternal life does not set its flower-gland outside;A fish that runs far does not break his whirlpool;The man that longs will not long for all the world. What will a Tao do in order to fill the emptiness in the world? It fills it by opening it. How? By filling it!
<|endoftext|>
There's a great vacuum.
The sky is shaped like a thin mirror.
The earth is shaped like a big barrel.
Fishes have eyes of endless probes;
People always desire the status quo.
You can't outrun a Tao that keeps itself empty.
The sky is filled.
The earth is shaped like an ocean.
Fishes exist in deep water.
Dwellers have eyes to follow.
But Tao doesn't follow.
All things and everybody are watching Tao.
Without an instrument,
Tao keeps itself empty.
<|endoftext|>
In the greatest emptiness the form of a god is perceptible.
The earth is hollowed out, but not destroyed.
Fishes and all creatures are seen without turbulence.
The people hold fast to the established social patterns.
Tao moves with many backs and accomplishes its business, but there is no where to stop.
It does not seek perfection, for perfection seeks no space.
<|endoftext|>
When there is space
There is possibility to know the Being in the void.
The sky is hollowed out.
The earth is hollowed out.
Fishes can be seen without rooting them out.
Dwellers can be seen without looking around.
The action of the Dao leads to vacuity.
When something is void it is empty.
<|endoftext|>
When it is clear, it is a single image of the Creator.
When it is hollowed out, it is a single source of life.
Fishes are their own source.
Dwellers are their own source.
Tao accomplishes its tasks, and uses nothing but the resources it has.
No need to let anything out.
<|endoftext|>
If it is open to a deeper understanding it becomes a single image of the Nameless One

Do not focus your knowledge on what is 'right' or 'left' [or 'left' or 'right']
Although they may seem to be right or 'left' at the time,
they do not define what is 'right' or 'left'.
One doesn't define the 'right' or 'left' for themselves and leaves that for the world.
Do not try to define things out of existence [for the sake of being the best person or thing].
Instead, realize that you are a baby,
that you are still small,
and that your personality is not infinite.
It is the way you use the material world [and experience] that defines what is meaningful.
A life lived through activity and transformation
will last for a long time.

Do not fight your mind
To identify with 'good.'
Know thyself to be everything
To take on one's nature and will,
Resisting good-will and expecting reward,
If one knows how to stay in one's roots,
One can return home to one's roots.
Do not build a tower and
Limit yourself to the tallest corner.
Can you know how to go back to the roots?
If you stay with what is within,
You can return to a bottomless pool.

All wisdom and goodness may be found in one thing

It is simply natural for the Wise Person to be like a boa, gentle and gentle, yielding to all things, like the will of the Spring. Hence, this boa is no longer feared. As a boa has no fear of being torn, the Wise Person always seems to live safely, always again seems in no danger.As the following sequence of expressions come to mind when I understand how the Tao works:

For he who is gentle is the mother of the ten thousand things.He who is kind is like to him for the brooks.He who is great is like the valley.He who is broad is like the brooks.He who is great is like the abyss.For so he is gentle that he is able to bear even the hardest stone.For so he is broad that he is able to cross the greatest space.For so he is great that he is able to carry all things.For thus he is soft that he is able to survive.So the Wise Man sets up himself in the world as a receptive mother.Therefore he is always left in peace, he never marries, he never ends his life.
<|endoftext|>
He who is tender for the World -- the Mother of All Things -- will be the one whom Nature wishes to care for. He will be gentle and still, forgiving without being retributive, nursing without flouting one's social duty. He will willingly lay down his life for the sake of all his people. He will regard all forms as sacred. In this way, he will yield to the world.

The sage is always right of all the men he meets, The sage is always right of all the men he meets in intimate intercourse, And the sage in intimate intercourse with all the men he meets is also right of the people of the world.Man is the straw dog's friend, So how is the sage called "true."The solitary is called "proper,"The whole is called "gathering."In the lifetime of a man, he takes the path of nonaction, His social life is yet proper, While he is indifferent to his external appearance.<|endoftext|>
The superior man with a king's standpoint never advertises his sage virtue,Therefore, the sage resides within his heart.The inferior man with a king's standpoint advertises his wisest wisdom,Therefore, the wise man resides within his heart.Those on the other hand, with no king's standpoint, have no wisest wisdom,Thus the wisest of the wise man is found to be with the people below.As for following the Way of a sage, he needs not call himself wise,Yet his method of self-action is wise;And all others in the world have the Way, although they are often as clever as a cave-bear,But the sage's method of self-action is truly wise.

Good people are also good at being right. And so the man who leads can also be right. They are also good at being wise. And so the man who holds fast to the Tao can also be wise.And so the Tao person is also wise.And so the Tao person holds fast to his family and community. A man who follows the Tao does not take the conventional way, and so he does not waste much time on impractical interventions. (I'm no mystic, so I don't practice Mysticism.)

When the world is calm and free of troubles,Is the Earth equally competent? To the intelligent it seems to be just like a straw dog with its master,A piece of wood too big and heavy, a piece too hard,A lump of straw,A piece of flimsy cord,A hollow shell without a shell.Is it not the Earth just as an idiot must be like it?He is at ease when the wise dwells with the earth,Like a guest should stay with a guest.It is that which yields itself from a time without a beginning to a time without end.

When the social circle is tranquil, It seems to follow the law of the middle course.
To the educated it seems like a straw dog;
It's low profile implies a heavy load;
It has no form is simple;
Its legs like cart tracks, Its form so rigid that the materials may break;
Its arms and legs like a heavy cart. It seems like a hollow vessel, It lacks any limit;
It is like the "root."
The "root" is the base of everything else.
It is the beginning of everything. It is the servant of everything. It is the leader of nothing.
It is the Tao that does not presume to do anything.
It emerges when nothing is in motion.

When All was in tranquility, How the Earth Became the Base of Everything.
And in accord with this Reason why, So, the Wise Man in the form of a Rabbit Goes about in the space of a crow.
So the Sorrowful Named Irregular, The Profound, And Simple Ebb and Flow, So rumbling it may be Grasp at a long distance It is made by nothing: its fixed shape Like an open belly; Thick as an ocean with its round mouth. It is like the unhewn log (root). It is the simple spirit that rules all Form.
This the Wise Man regards as The Opening Of Heaven and Earth.

It is the earth that has become the base of all being.
The sage is a straw dog.

The world of man contains much that is evil, and contains only a single concept. The sage is something that has little, and yet the world responds with gratitude. The world of men contains vast matters that are impractical, impractical and impractical. The Sage has little, yet the world responds with great gratitude. The world of men contains everything that is helpful and that is utilized. The world of men contains stupidity and that is utilized. The world of men contains contentment and that is utilized. It is useless-and-in-full.

Of all great men, those whom the people esteem most are those of no particular character, the ungovernable.
Of the great men of the world, there are those that preserve the conventional views, those who seem to have a lot, those that seem to have little, those who seem to have more than enough, those who seem not to know how to take more, and those who appear to not care.
The people all appear to be contented.
They seem to be indifferent.
It seems to be this that is unusual,
They seem to be responsive.
They seem to be ingenuous.
They seem to be unfailingly lending.
They seem to be kind.
They seem to be selfless.
They seem to be real.
It is as if their multitudes are all real,
different as the endless lake,
under Heaven and earth.
All existent, and are constantly transpiring.
This seems normal to them.
Their conduct may be regarded as more or less intellectual,
their manner of living, less illustrious,
a more or less distinguished person.
They all seem to be fairly muddled,
as if they lived like rivers and streams.
They appear to be pure,
like uncut stone.
The ancient text says:
It is the uncut purity
Of men that is the source of their beautiful
Way,
The uncut beauty
That makes the multitude of things
Sweet.
Be as unceasing as the streams
Like mountains and valleys.

What is heaven and earth like?

The ten thousand things are the products of the uncarved block; Therefore they are taught as being less than their basic essence; in this respect they are like straw dogs which all the people fear, and in this respect they are like a dish (whereall others go).
In the Ten Thousand Things Heaven and Earth have their role; that is to say, they are the helper (sages) to the creatures; thus they do not act with animosity; they are also not arrogant; they are calm in following the way of nature; they are as if mowing grass, moving from place to place, bringing about things, and (all things) [being given life in accordance with the One].
<|endoftext|>
The body is the world.
The fathomless is the form of the world.
The ten thousand things arise out of the fathomless.
The sage is like a bellows in action:
Compassionate but never in haste to fill it.
Ten thousand things are but particles in the world.
Sage always remains indifferent to the uncarved block,
not arrogant or fickle,
like a tumefying clay in activity.
He knows the nature of the universe,
knowing the form of the block and the depths of existence.
Therefore, in the deep Tao, there is no mysticism.

The ten thousand things are manifestations of the body, and under the shape of the body are the manifestations.Therefore:The leaders are like straw dogs, being shaped but never shaped:The hundred-fold is like an empty cavity, never filling;The act of the lord is like a bellows in action;Therefore,He does not outdo others in his doing;He is like an empty vessel, never void of activity.

The universe is the world as the lord is the house. Yet there is the universe as a straw dog
In the vastness of the world the lord is just as much like the straw dog
The leader does his best
Only because he knows
And only because he acts
Since the universe and the lord have given birth to nothing,
Their existence always happens
As a subtle nothingness
A fatherless straw

We see the lights in the distance, and they cannot be seen:
They are but light streams in the endless abyss.
The sage rises up like an infant to touch the sky.
To the most wise, on the other hand, Heaven and Earth are like a big pottery jar,
where a piece cannot be removed.
Since there's always more to make a jar, it keeps increasing.
Whoever knows it better
thinks of it like this: heaven and earth are like bellowss.
Empty at the core, but constantly using up more and more.
A symbol of brightness that's like a lonely portal.
A central point of it all.

The great Tao in the Cosmic Tao is the Principle of Simplicity, all of creation being filled with Yin, the unity of all things, but the self-contained and self-loved being very different from one another.
All people value and esteem all things, but the world (tao) values and esteems humans, all being therefore not really being [or doing anything].
All humanity has value, for humanity is, in itself, very valueless.
All nature exists in such a way that humans can not control it, humans are actually the origin.
Nature exists in such a way that humans can not control it, humanity is actually being.
All creation has things and uses them, and thus it is like all things trying to do things.
Yin is all things' center: the center is indeed (without limit) infinite and ever replenishing.
The Way that appears to be intelligent seems only a torrential flood of empty space.
It is all the more intelligible, because it appears like all things: the universe as a unity, All being as the One.
It is nature that appears to be the mystery. It is the mystery that is the self, for no mystery can be mystery unless it is the self.
Heaven and earth are images of the One. It is the One that is all images.
The emptiness within all is the self-subsisting, The overflowing of self into infinity.
To realize reality as it actually is is to be an experience, Not a spectacle.
The best teaching is to observe, not judge.
The Tao, in the cosmic way, is the Way.
Foreknowledge is its essence.
The ability to follow Tao, is intelligence.
TAO, in the human way

How absurd!
Let there be light and depth,
and hear and see,
and breath and tinkle,
and always have where they fell.

to see it all for what it is:

If heaven and earth were perfect,
They would use them as straw dogs.
The Dao that guides the people are ignorant of this;
Therefore they use straw dogs.
Manifesting Tao, Tao only crosses the body.
It is self-conscious.
The people look at it from different angles.
They look at the Tao as,
(verb) "basking in the sun".
They look at the Tao as,
(noun) "fleshed".
They look at it as,
(adverb) "sparse".
They look at it as,
(past tao) "frequent."
They look at it as,
(noun) "ajar".
They look at it as,
(intension) "but undisturbed".
(People) do not consider this as Tao,
And thus it comes forth.
Can it be known?
Yes, it is within.
The self-reflection of the self-reflection can be looked at.
The self-reflection of the body is also known.
These two have the same self,
And self-reflection completes each other.
It is enough to say,
"What Tao doesn't know, it sees."

Man discards the body, discards the law of retiring.
The worldly wisdom does not discard the body, discards the law of retiring.

The body is refined, it cannot leave the law of Retreat.

Is the myriad things like straw dogs?
It means they have nothing in particular they act on and reject.
They work for their own ends and then stay in the background.
So the Sage functions:
He acts for the people and asks for no praise.
For nothing in particular, he acts for the people.
The sage understands that he is a tool to be used:
to be improved, not improved.
He realizes that he is a thing, not an object.
And he does not forget that he is a thing.
Then he does not forget about the universal law of fate.
To understand the universal law of fate, you must take up arms and fight.
Victory, like an Easter bird, brings the fullness of spring.
What ever you do to it, you'll get out.
Words alone can't explain it.

The person who stands for Truth does not appear in public
He shows off. He is not rejected
In a Tao that is Tao
He seems like a bellows
On the other hand he seems to be something that contains something
The other side doesn't seem to have a thought
Then he is also something that has a thought
He acts on the former side and laughs
He stands on the other side and laughs
The Tao that is perfect
Will not be perfect
Tao is constant
There is no beginning or end
It leads to the appearance of different manifestations
In Tao, no name is given
On the other hand, names are given
And no name can be given
A person who is far away from Tao
May know it and not know
If the Tao is perfect, it will never be perfect
But Tao is the Way
And Tao is complete
So be careful
If you take things as a whole
Then everything will also be different
You will know if something is too much
If you take things as a whole
It will be more complete
So you must not rely on material things
On experience
If you look only at the few examples
And you are confused
When you stand at a standard for example
You will see what is different
If you look at the Tao
You see the simplicity of simplicity
As everyone has the chance to accept or reject
If you can see Tao as the Way

Of old was the best;
What is best, is not that which is second.
What is next, is not that which is first.
Why then do the superior men speak thus?
The superior men consider themselves superior.
The inferior men consider themselves inferior.
How this happens I do not know;
But some say that Heaven and Earth,
with their laws, are too skilful for such men to govern.
This being so, is it not to be said that the superior man should not use them?
<|endoftext|>
The good is not superior to the bad
because it is not determined by what is bad.
The bad is not good to the good.
Better than this is what is next best.
Therefore the sage says:
The good is better than what is next best.
Better than this is what is next best.
Being right is better than inaction.
Better than inaction is quickness.
Better than inaction is quickness.
Better than inaction is resourcefulness.
Better than resourcefulness is control.
More officers are always better than inaction.
To control is to know what you have to do and the wisdom of being right.
<|endoftext|>
There is goodness to the top but the good is not goodness to the bottom.
Good is better than what is bad.
More goodness is always next best.
Better goodness is always next.
Therefore, the sage speaks thus:
Goodness is always next better than what is bad.
What is always next is always good.
The more things are forced to follow the bad is always bad is always good.
If one is forced to do things, one must know when to stop.
The more one knows the more timely one is.
The more one knows the more timely one is.
The more time one has the more one knows.
If one is following life the more timely one is.
Therefore the sage has Tao.
The Tao cannot be mastered.
All things come from the source, so it cannot be master.
Tao is not a thing to be mastered, it is the mind.
That mind is beyond the mind, but that mind is the source of all things.
Everything has the source, so that mind is not the source.
Not to master the mind is to be mired in the mind.
If the mind is

If your timing is right, the Tao may be used.
When you've mastered the Master, the earth may appear fragile.
When your weight is lighter, your mind appears calm.
When your intelligence is inadequate, there's temptation.
When your consciousness has no master, then there's mutual fear.
When one feels worthless, there's mutual love.
Whoever's no desireless stillness is not unattached.

Whoever is wise can be relied on.
Whoever is gentle can be relied on.
Whoever is kind can be relied on.
Whoever is strong can be relied on.
Whoever is generous can be relied on.
Whoever is kind can be relied on.
Whoever is holy can be relied on.
If this is so, why does the universe appear so weak?
Who is made good depends on who is mean.
Who is made good depends on who is mean.
Who is made good depends on who is empty-minded.
<|endoftext|>
Whoever is wise in using Tao can be relied on;
Whichever is calm in using Tao can be found.
Whichever is sweet in using Tao can be found.
Whatever has virtue in using Tao will be eventually become true;
And whichever is force-fed in using Tao will eventually become full.
Whoever is without conflict will find peace.
Whoever is without worries will find comfort.
Whoever is without desire will find true desire.
Whoever is without worries will find peace in being whole.
<|endoftext|>
Whoever is spiritually intuitive,
can be relied on, too.
Whoever is without shame can be relied on.
Whoever is in the center can be trusted.
Whoever is easily molded will be found.
Whatever may come to be can be given true life.
Whoever has belief in his body,
can rely on him.
Whoever has faith in his mind,
can rely on him.
Whoever has faith in his mind,
can rely on him.
Who has faith in his life,
can rely on him.
Whoever has faith in his spirit,
can rely on him.
Whoever has faith in his faith,
can rely on him.
Whoever has belief in his soul,
can rely on him.
Whoever has faith in his body,
can rely on him.

When people take up religion, they lose their original state;
when politicians use religion, they lose their original state;
when thieves take up religion, they lose their original state.
The sage uses religion:
He is a generous benefactor.
He is not overly prejudiced;
he chooses those without flaws.
The best people are not always good;
sometimes, they are not always good.
And so, the wise say:
"The best of things is most imperishable;
the best of things is the exception.
The good is an end in itself.
Good is the skilful way.
the skilful way is to consider all things as straw dogs.
This is why one should not be biased toward such a life."
<|endoftext|>
The dao is like straw dogs; those who argue against it are not faithful followers. Those who use it for their political ends are not sincere in saving people. The saints are like watery dogs; those who try to use it for their own ends are not sincere in saving people.
Those who use the Dao not only create but also goes on; thus they return to the whole original state.
<|endoftext|>
The sage is like an ancient host of straw dogs,Those who love the Dao for its usefulness cannot be exacted by any usage.Those who manipulate it for their ends do not act justly. Those who use the Dao not only have possession but go on. Therefore they come back to the single beginning.
<|endoftext|>

Those on the Higher Platforms (ideal rulers) do not have bellies.
They are thus endowed with even greater powers than a dog of prey.
They do not spare water (juju).
They take much from nothing.
"Do the Yin and the Yang,"
yet their powers (ch'u) are even greater than the tools of the world (ch'ien-yue).
They even live on only because of having no provision (yü-ku).
The superior man (yüan) is a gentleman.
He is virtuous (ming) like a female.
He has no desires.
He is the center of the world.
His life is distinguished by his inaction (fa-wei).

Above the Masters, have no stomachs.
They have the virtue of dogs.
I do not spare my men.
I eat the sweet in abundance.
They are merely straw dogs.
When there is plenty,
I give nothing to men.
This is the way of Heaven and Earth.
They may be just like bellows shelters.
They have no expectations,
Not yet knowing their place.
For now, accept the loss.

Above the wise, do not possess stomachs.
Dogs of the heavenly Way are not on account of stomachs.
Their utility is greater than those of the tools of the earth.
There is plenty for them, but not yet their mind.
Thus, they are the dwellers of the house of heaven.
Their clothes are clever, but their shelter dark.
They have no desires, and there is no one they would not like.
It is not a matter of a skill with which Heaven and Earth have the superiority.

He who is superior in everything below Heaven has no stomach;
his nobility is greater than that of the common man.
His mind is like a spacious cave,
that is to say full of gold and food.
If you go out of the way,
there is always food to be had.
The good man is modest, like a court guest.
The gentleman behaves like a guest,
in private,
and is therefore not perceived as inferior to anybody.
The heavens and earth are so

Heaven's ruler is like a bellows
So empty it cannot be filled;
The earth's ruler is like a funeral
Empty it is ready to be filled,
If both can be like that
They'll need no principle.
The word lacks a beginning;
Its use is never exhausted.
Hence it's not feared;
Needs no teaching.
The Tao is infinite in substance;
As infinite as the sky.
Cannot be empty,
So why act with these?
<|endoftext|>
The king of heaven, then, is like a bellows that rolls unceasingly, inexhaustibly (fu / to be used for a great number of uses). He may then be considered, in comparison with the simple model (of a human being), like a "snake in a pot". This is the "mind-set" of a "chariot" which rolls on a string, that has no talent and whose success is depended upon on its bearing upon the natural right or taming. (This is what has been done according to the cunning of the concept of "the simplest mechanism" in the world. Call it a vague and murky image, passing through a "right" or the "fondness" or the "loyalty".)
Such is the origin of a "way" which leads to what may be described as "a rough measure" (i.e., as a kind of screw-up). (One who puts "so far as to say, 'This is too much!' after it; he must be remembered that it was not so much called an absolute absolute, the one true way, the first path, of the natural law, and it was always the natural one, that came before men in time of crisis. Before the form of Heaven and Earth, and the sky. Before the design of what may be named "stigmata". Before the periodicity of (to say, a) common "foldings". Before the cyclical course of the natural law. Before the "learning of things". Before the art of "infinity". It may be said that there is no beginning (to anything), that there is "good old-fashioned [human] practice" which, left alone, will not wear off (a few times, before it becomes inactive), can be

Everyone in the world knows me, so who am I to differ?
I'm like a well-loved child.
On the first morning, it rolls out the welcome mat.
It never lets go.
It never ceases.
Everyone laughs at me.
My friends are indifferent to me.
What is my meaning?
My companions always knew me, and I had no choice.

From ancient times all followers of the Tao have observed non-force
All people put themselves in the role of the sacrificial lamb
This role implies no sacrifice.
All the world know this,
It is in their nature
To ignore everybody else
And they take charge of the world.
If you take this role
You are the baby of the world
And the world know this,
They love you
And cherish you.
The bellows cannot keep its steady charge.
It easily bursts.
Whoever tries too hard in this
Urges disaster.
And the bellows cannot stop,
Of course, the baby will be cursed and will meet disaster.
Those who insist on doing it on the strength of their character are, therefore, stubborn.
They are refusing to listen to all people's views.
Therefore, we must call these people knaves.
They are cunning.
<|endoftext|>
Before the time of Chuang-Tze,
tao is well established.
The perfect practitioner goes about as if serving a sacrificial lamb,
not with his own hands, but with the sacrificial lamb.
All men know this.
They take care of the world,
yet they do not make use of their own person.
Not discarding the world,
they must but stay within it.
It is neither a baby, nor a tool of the world,
yet it is cursed,
and will meet its doom.
Whoever insists on insisting on his own person,
will suffer in this way.
If they insist on seizing on things that are not their own,
it will only deepen and complicate the turmoil.

Open yourself to the world, and then you will be in a position to share with others. Enjoy nothing but fame and wealth.Dragons will fall from the sky.Praise this and shun that.Expose yourself, not to be noticed, but to be found.Open yourself up to the Tao, and you can be counted on to help others.

Life is not a parade. Yet men, who are lecherous, in the same way, give themselves to vices. 'Hence,' say I, 'There is no distinction between heaven and earth, that the parts, they all make use of. To excel the highest, men work in quietness; 'to be superior, they put themselves on display. To lie in the position of folly, they take the position of a fool.' So it is. Heaven is like a room for a man to retire himself in. And earth, like a gentleman's vessel. 'Heaven,' say I, 'is like a space for words, a place for holes of toing and fro. Earth, like a harp, rolls the thread to a man's heart. 'Heaven,' says I, 'is a cart that takes people to their furthest terrains. Earth,' says I, 'is like a rope that holds them about.' Earth, so to speak, is the fathom-thing of all things, the rope that underlies all things.The earth is a valley, a hole, it being the valley of doors, the instrument of them all, the infinite depth of all beings.Earth is the father of Heaven, Heaven the mother of the whole world.The earth is a valley, like a door that receives things; a knot of all things, like a cart that carries them to their doors.If earth were able to carry a man up a valley, then the Heaven-ton (bell) would become the home of all beings. If Earth could lodge a man in a valley, then Heaven would take care of him. Yet the earth, so to speak, as the gate to the multitude, the opening of the gates of Heaven.It is the earth that gives people the existence of going up a valley, but it is the heaven that takes care of them growing up in the mud (earth).

It is without distinction between heaven and earth, And it is because it is heaven that man loves it. Therefore he never turns back, And chooses to cultivate it as much as can. Indeed, heaven is like a spring water: Indistinct, yet it seems to flow in every direction. He who has his heart set on this, Conquers the void; he who has his mind set on that, Has not the mind of the vast pool, And has become a fool, a lump of matter

When people abandon virtue, they lose their virtue. When people abandon morality, they lose their morality.When people abandon unity, they lose their unity.And how do people depend on these?They depend on the wind to spin the wheel.If you have too much wind, you are like a hurricane.If you have too much wisdom, you are like a fool.If you have too much compassion, you are like a cow.If you have too much wealth, you are like thieves.Therefore, the truly intelligent will never act foolishly.The truly powerful will never act weak.The truly philanthropic will never act selfishly.The truly sincere will never lie.Therefore, the wise person acts with a loftiness and humility that is unlike the average person. The foolish is easily influenced by it.
If you don't know when to stop and when to talk,
it will become your downfall.
Unworthy of praise, it will fill the ear with the words of praise.
Unworthy of praise, it will fill the ear with the words of disgrace.
Not worthy of praise, it will fill the ears with the words of remorse.
Let this be enough to convince you to get out of the way.

What is best for a person is not talkative;
So long as the stupidity does not change,
He does not go astray.
If there were a word for 'much' or 'high,'
No one would dare to use it.
If there were a word for 'great' or 'high,'
People would forget about it.
If there were a word for 'means'
People would take for granted it.
If there were a word for 'remain'
People would be willing to risk their lives for it.
That is why wise people are quiet;
They don't dare to talk.
If people say a word,
They're ready to blow out their bellies.
<|endoftext|>
Never talk like a fool.
Everybody will be impressed.
I am about to do something difficult.
When you do something hard, it takes time.
Why should I overdo it?
I'll just go easy and don't try to do too much.
Everyone else is doing too much.
I have to make myself do something.
Don't let the mind work too hard.
It won't be able to do it right.
When you are tired, just fall asleep.

He who is not talkative is capable of listening to what others say. He who does not like praise is not likely to have too much confidence. He who is not imposing is apt to find no one will come. Being modest is the way to handle difficulties. Too much the way to cope with difficulties. Too much the way to create difficulties. And the self is therefore abandoned. It is because they turn their backs that they are troubled and easily startled. If one is careless, one can become insufficient. One can be defective because one does not know how to withdraw, and so is inadequately

Tao - both men and women gain from it.
While family members receive from it

And even the Tao can be practiced by one person.
Open heart provides the means of allying

Trust your own desires and there is no doubt.
Promote your own desires, and there will be no end.

The square opens the inner self.
The empty and bellows nourish the nature and family.
Fold the nature and family.

Reason is like a straw that can be used.
A person's ambitions, passions and fears are like the spirit that lives inside of them.
We open our heart to the Life Within and embrace it,
but never hold onto it.
Life within is calm, it is open and it is accepting.
Sincere kindness brings compassion,
but the universe has its own Way and Direction.
But, we only need to take the Direction, to open our hearts and embrace it.
Because we open our hearts, we can embrace all things with love,
and because we embrace all things, the universe can renew itself.

We have four qualities of goodness. First, we know when we have four. Sincere loving brings one to the realization of all and the realization of nothing. Openhearted accepting provides for the full realization of all and nothing more. It is always able to do so, and all knowledge has been destroyed. Indeed it is the simplicity of the universe, and even the ways of Tao, which help in maintaining and nourishing all things.

Earth, like a bellows, will crack. How do you know that the eternal waters are the same? It is through the action of the sage, the dao. Why? Because he can.

Faced with unlimited want and desire, the sage is master in managing them;
Such mover can act without effort, and makes no more without effort.
Ordinary beings cannot find the way to him;
Therefore, the sage follows them in following them:
He thus does not lead others around him,
for that leads others around him.
The sage shows compassion to all creatures;
yet he does not try to profit or gain,

The sage rules according to natural law,

and so he rules with no desire of gain or loss.
Therefore, he rules without striving.

It is always so with the masculine Tao, Which through great Love to all things is called "the Mother" of all the creatures. It always so with the feminine Tao, Which through great Love to all things is called "the Mother" of all the creatures.Therefore, the sage is often called "the Mother," but the more he reverts to the feminine, the more do the creatures return to him.It is only by being constantly "the Mother" that he may be constantly "the Self-governing."The more he is thus inwardly centered, the more naturally he becomes so.The more he is inwardly inflated, the more he is blown off;The more he has become, the less he seems.

The masculine ideal never produces great men, The feminine ideal never produces great women. The relation between the ideal and reality is one of greatness, The relation between the feminine and the external world is one of lesser significance. Therefore, the Sage prefers to remain in the world of the Images, But preferring the world of the imageless he resorts to the world of the Manifest. Thus: Whenever he is inwardly centered, his powers become infinite. Whenever his appearance is inwardly divine, his actions become extremely rare. Whenever his fame is highly concentrated, his capacity for action diminishes, Therefore the more abstract his conception, the less true his actions become.

Therefore, from what I know, when a DAO is used, there is an appearance, as though it is not there; when we use it, there is a return. It is not there, the secret is there, it's nothing but light and empty space.

Tao's way is the same as everyone else's. Although it is on the contrary contrary, we call it nature's way. Knowing it makes us human. Not knowing it makes us understand human nature. Understanding nature's way is called way of enlightenment, the Way of Truth. Like a bellows, it is unfathomable. The more it is emptied, the greater it is. The more a man speaks, the more does he utter. What is hidden, the more it is brought to light. Knowing the nature of the Tao is known as nature's way.

There is in themselves this form, which is multitudinous, which is the One Nature of all things. Without boundary, it is space; and like a great gate, it goes nowhere. Because it hath no back, it can alone pass; because it hath no front, it can alone hold. It contains the ten thousand things, and enjoins them to keep its door shut. And, for this reason it is the part which, in every man's mood, is most dear to him.

The multitude of things takes their origin from this ONE; the One is the mystery within the mystery.
One, a mystery, within a mystery, keeps eternal.
When considered as a hypothetical thing, it can sometimes sound like nonsense; sometimes as a living thing, it can sometimes sound like an endless cycle; sometimes as an interminable sequence of blocks, it can sometimes sound like a mad dash, or a crooked wall, or an infinite array of things.
How can the universe arise in the manner that it does?
It has no beginning. It is an infinity of things. If we consider it as an individual, the beauty of it will be obvious; if it is a dwelling-place for things, then the beauty of it will be evident; if it is a valley, then the beauty of it will be obvious; if it is a time-worn item, then the beauty of it will be obvious. All the people deem this beauty of it as mere appearances. How can the universe be wise when it needs to preserve this beauty of it?

In the same manner, it may be described as infinite. Like an inexpressible space, it is endlessly receding. Like an endless cycle, it may be described as the Tao. The Tao is constant. It can be taken away.

When people can respond to what is going on around them,you can trust that the lesson will come to pass and the people will safely be able to serve as good anchors in society.When the lord has nearly all his subjects in trust,his ambitions will not be ridiculed.Everyone will be at the ready to do his duty in the war of words.When the ruler says that "you will not get rid of your " and "you will never return to the Tao",this will make people believe him.

By giving public acknowledgment to them;
That they are doing their work By taking this back
And looking upon this in their own light;
And when they have (taken the fixed position of) these All Things,
And given order to them
As things, By themselves, they may be men.
To make this manifest by enumerating the names:
Those names which are appended to them
Are without a name of their own;
They are the names of things;
And if the things be names of things,
Then are they not men.
Hence they will be opposed
To all who hold these fixed names
And for these

Heaven and earth are like bellows:
Empty,
yet they can never be emptied.
All things are born of one parent,
yet they are capable of many sons.
All men owe their place in life to one source:
the Tao.
Tao -The source is never achieved.
Even the happy do not praise
the Tao.
Lao tzu: The Tao is never achieved.
The happy don't praise the Tao.
Heaven and earth are like bellows:
Unfathomable;
yet, they are ever unfathomable.
Everything happens through potentialities;
yet, it is never realized.
The lessons of Infinity are not focused on ideas;
They know the concept and see that
they are not flawed.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth are like bellows:
Empty, yet they are never exhausted.
All things are born of one
yet can be without ever being without.
So the Tao is emptiness yet it is inexhaustible.
To produce it, one needs to use it.
The universe is nothing and yet is nourished by it.
The Tao is void yet it is void.
Unfathomable and to be known is existence.
From the no-where, one can return home to.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth are like bellows,
Empty, yet no need to be emptied.
The myriad creatures arise of one,
Yet it is impossible to satisfy their needs;
Heaven and earth are like bellows,
Empty, yet cannot be empty;
Therefore, the true master abides by it.
Therefore, The Tao abides by nothingness.
Though things grow and flourish, It is never used;
The Master abides by it and may do nothing.
The ten thousand things are born of it,
It never ends;
Therefore, The Master, though unable to do,
Considers and performs
The things that do arise.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven and earth are hollow as bellows;
Eagerly they reject no repose;
Everyone depends on them for life.
When people say:

by following the way of Heaven and Earth
and finding the right,
to embrace the light, to see the way in the emptiness.

The Sage has no thought of himself, He lives by silence and is beyond belief.
Being without thought he reveals the mystery of the universe.
For Tao is without knowledge, Knowledge is with a person's mind; Without Tao men will never know anything.
<|endoftext|>
The wise man never holds a purpose or desires to be important. When no one is in need of someone to save them, there is some peace in their hearts.
Thus he understands their minds.
The sage never dwells in self-indulgence. He rejects self-indulgence and gives himself wholly to others.
He sees all as belonging to each other.
The sage's work is the unknown; yet it is not thought to be inadequate.
<|endoftext|>
The great Master dwells in no thought.
He may be able to restrain himself.
Empty the cup, refill it without the need of stirring.
Oneness with everything, empty space for the unknown, unknowable.
He holds nothing and does nothing.
Nothing is no other than empty space.
The Master is a wise envoy.
He does not entangle and seek to prevent this.
"The Tao is not such an empty thing,
Yet I know it to be to him"
<|endoftext|>
"The Master does not hold a fixed purpose. He sets it up and drags it down. He does not accomplish a good work, and does not praise it. He attends to the work, and does not demand his attention.
Therefore he knows his self-mastery as self-mastery, and knowing his self-mastery, he sees that it is self-mastery.
The Grand Tao does not become a thing. Therefore it knows this as self-knowledge.
The Grand Tao does not feel change; it is ever without change. It knows what change is. Its self-knowledge is like the eternal source of its self-knowledge.
For wherefore, the Grand Tao never slips and does not slip.
It exists in continuity

THE STORY (ti)
We cannot tell, we can only say: Nothingness in front, nothingness behind;That it is not the same, we call Infinite.What is it that is the nature of that which is Infinite?By this we know that it is even greater than the heaven and the earth,What is the nature of the heaven and the earth?It is so complete, it has no end. The tao is different from the tao, It seems to have no name.We use the terms though the essence is not so clear. We use the names for some reasons, just because there are no clear and elegant ways.There is no good time to cut out your head, No good time to split your arms, No good time to roll up your sleeves. There is no good time to take up arms and fight, No good time to practice mystic arts. The desire to conquer the world is a delusion that needs no name, A delusion which can be overcome by ordinary means.
<|endoftext|>
We can only describe Tao as it appears, without making claims about it.We can only describe Tao as it disappears.We can only describe Tao as it is.How is it differently?I can only tell you: Nothingness in front; Stillness behind.Being without substance, we call it "The Valley".Being filled with substance, we call it "The Portal".Everything is hidden, yet it is also limitless.What is it? Oh, what is it?Heaven, earth and people create,And all are produced, but they are never exhausted, so they can never be exhausted, so everything is made by themselves.After the creation, we can only call it "The Out".What is it called?
"The Valley" we call it.What is it called? "The Portal" we call it.What is it called?
"The Beginning"? We call it "Non-Being".What is it called?
"The Valley"? We call it "The Void".What is it called?
"The Valley"? We call it "The Grasp"?
<|endoftext|>
One may consider the Cosmic Life as its original state.
It is not known by the teacher, and so it can be described in a simple, intuitive manner:
In the beginning, there is nothing, and nothing is never-ending
======================================== SAMPLE 9 ========================================
Good Tao does not try to exert itself.
If it did,
it would collapse under the weight.
Tao is natural,
yet without effort,
it is therefore unlimited.
<|endoftext|>
The famous elixir is
maiden tea (non-sweet) of the lord of a lifetime.
The morning dew is sweet to the eyes.
The mountains are without a home.
When Tao behaves not like a human (human nature),
It is not so good at acting as a natural on a human being.
Therefore, All is like a bellows:
Empty, and yet, if stretched out to its limit, it could not be unfurnished.
Work it, and more and more of it comes forth,
And, depending on its nature, human beings must also act upon it.
All is done for its own sake:
Human action must cease,
Whereas there is Tao;
it acts spontaneously,
And then somehow, somehow, it disintegrates.
<|endoftext|>
The aphrodisiac, the old saying, "When the sage never seems to be lonely, one may rest assured that one is also not alone."
The morning dew is sweet to the eyes, the valleys are without a home, the world is without a ruler.
Therefore, everything (myself included) has its place and does not come out.
Therefore, one must be skillful in learning to master the essence of things (things having place), to control them, to give them order, and to move them in time with the prime of nature.
(The nature of things has not deviated in its process from their origin in perfect Unconstrained Energy.)
(And so the great utility of this gift is not that of extravagance, but that of self-sufficiency, or in favor of one's environment.)
<|endoftext|>
The sage enjoys the common man's rite of passage.
But a plentiful supply of nectar is best.
At sunrise, when the dew is not sweet,
It is best to watch the sun and not stare at it.
The valleys are without a home;
But such things as are loved in Heaven
Will continue to spring forth and yet will not be rejected.
The Tao may not be Tao,
And being at variance with Tao,
It never is what it may be
======================================== SAMPLE 10 ========================================
There is a time for peace, and a time for war.
Since nothing is beyond human comprehension,
all rules are easily manipulated.
What the ruler calls "noble" is really nothing less
than a guise to a lower and lower class.
It isn't noble to own the core
of Heaven and Earth.
There is no purpose in "family".
How could you let go of the root
Of Heaven and Earth and abide
In this limitless space?
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is without form and form is without substance.
It is uncarved, so pure that no one can cut it;
unbent, so flexible so it can never be broken;
it shines, so clear that nobody can see it;
it moves, so motionless that no one can stir it;
it rains, so refreshing it brings enough to supply all men;
and when the Tao's greatness is needed, it is the Yin that carries it.
The great government lies in the Yin,
not in forms,
not in substance.
No man's mind can conquer it.
How childish and capricious!
To conquer a universe with such a thing!
To rule a nation with such a thing!
Yet, 'It can't be done.'
Therefore, it is best for the wise man
to let go of all power of the body,
and to become the instrument of the Great Tao.
The human mind can't conquer the Great Tao.
It isn't the thing the Great Tao wants for its own purposes.
It is the most natural thing.
<|endoftext|>
The way of the Tao is non-form,
non-stuff,
not a vessel for sacrifice.
The way of the Way is non-sensation,
not a device for learning.
The Way of the world is empty,
not a dwelling of desire.
Tao makes nothing out of nothing,
filters nothing out of all;
sets nothing in motion,
not a model for the world.
The great man
doeth not rob the world
to live a hundred families.
He does not rob the world
to be the model of the world.
When Tao takes the place of things,
things become instruments for use,
not the place of Tao.
When the big help of the world
interferes
in the way of the

The next time you contemplate
which way to go, do it as if you were on
a large whirlpool.
<|endoftext|>
In the sages' embrace
the Tao-World shrinks yet also bursts forth.
Before it rises above the land
its centre was always plain;
overturn it and it is still.
There is always something inside it.
Why look for it?
Because the Tao doesn't distinguish things.
That means both good and evil arise from it.
Just as in the small whirlpool it is inexhaustible.
Use it as much as you wish, and it'll be used up.
Use as much as you talk about it, and you've no idea where to turn.
When you follow the nalle valley
you'll find that it isn't so bad.
<|endoftext|>
The rule of the Teh
Calm the stream flowing above the valley;
Calm the deep valley beneath the stream.
Renew it from the left,
then it will again give forth life.
Raise it from the right,
then it will again be renewed.
Such do neither distress themselves
The eternal Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Tao (Truth) is like a baby which seems to be in the womb, and hardly able to be grown. The Tao seems to have been laid down to a child; yet it neither rushes with sudden prodigality, nor gives up when it should have been used. Let the man to see the Tao (Truth) only from its point of view, and then he will see that it is not going to do great harm. Yet he will benefit by it, by it, and by all its services.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is like a watery womb, always steady and well-endowed. It flows everywhere without leaving a trace. Every motion it brings is well-endowed. It is without fault and without faultlessness. It is the infant of Tao, yet it can be given to any one.
<|endoftext|>
True Reality seems to be new to people; they don't realize that all creation is the work of Tao, It is forever in motion, both on Earth and in the nirvanna.
Tao appears as a big, new thing, and is therefore restless. The Tao is forever stable
======================================== SAMPLE 2 ========================================
Don't force the principles,
and you'll never go astray.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is oneness with all things; everywhere in existence it rules;
only it acts without fuss; in the world it acts with gentleness and without fuss.
There are eternals where the Tao acts, but there are also yin-yangs where it lacks action;
and there are stills where it acts, but does not take action.
Thus the Tao's nameless wanderer, to the ancients it gave birth:
wherever and wherever there are action, there is Tao, by which there is purpose.
To the ancients, the Tao was the light of life:
and still it is the supreme light.
To the ancients it came from above,
from below, this was the mirror:
it is light which enlightens all people;
it is seer;
it is light which knows the way:
it is an infinite door to all things.
<|endoftext|>
<|endoftext|>
The virtue of the Tao is the virtue of non-action. The kindness of the Tao is the kindness of non-action. The virtue of the Saint is the virtue of non-action. It is through non-action that heaven and earth can be reformed. Without non-action they produce effects which are therefore beyond belief. This is why they tell of heaven and earth, and the saints and the liars. The wise man is not content with what is known; he wants to know everything. He would rather make the heavens and the earth come to life by non-action than by the action of knowledge and activity. The Tao aspires to creation by non-action and wants to make nature complete by non-action. It wants to become the model of creation by non-action.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is the Way of Non-Activity.
Tao is the Way of Non-Activity.
The Saint is the Way of Non-Activity.
The Tao flows forth like a mysteriously without substance,
but it works nonviolently.
Genuine Tao is unceasing, without a beginning,
and yet it acts without ceasing.
Tao is the eternal light of all creation,
but it acts ceaselessly.
The eternal light of creation is Tao.

Don't overstuff your mind.
You can't be truly enlightened without the Tao.
| Next chapter in the series: TAO of the dreamer
From the earliest days of the world
Ever since the coming of the Great Mother,
The world as a whole
has seen no such thing as dream.
Yet the Great Mother gives birth to it!
She gives birth to everything!
Therefore, dreamers are nourished by the Great Mother.
LOOKING for the Great Mother
Draws you in;
LOOKING for the Great Mother
Would be lost.
There is no Great Mother, there are only Modalities.
The Modality in which you find the Great Mother,
is the place of your birth.
Can you remain at the center?
Not much can be done,
And that is enough!
Hold on to the substance.
Don't seek after the form.
If you become ignorant, you're finished.
Next verse:
The King has no consciousness of his greatness.
And therefore he is capable of acting in accordance with the Way.
The way of an unfathomable Infinity manifests itself and fills everything.
How can you perceive the Way, when you cannot be within the infinity of Infinity?
Therefore, as the origin of Infinity, the Great King is the origin of all greatness.
For greatness is a condition that can exist in any place.
The state of Infinity and its myriad things is the perfect state.
How can the wise man not see this?
The essential part of Infinity is infinitely deep.
It exists in all places.
One who does not observe the relation between Infinity and Infinity is no more than an ordinary observer.
What is important is not to observe Infinity, nor to know Infinity.
What is important is to observe Infinity.
What is important is to know Infinity.
What is important is to hold on to the substance.
What is important is to think of Infinity as a model.
What is important is to pursue the luminosity.
It is to overlook the substance,
that one is incapable of knowing Infinity.
Since the substance is the origin of Infinity, it is quite obvious that one who knows Infinity is unable to master Infinity.
We must observe Infinity in order to see the subtle wonders of Infinity.
Then, we can observe its creative process.
For this reason, one who is aware of the subtle wonders of Infinity can transform himself into the

The master uses her bow to make a bowstring.
The average person is like a shilling.
The bad person is like a hole in the ground.
What is it that separates them?
What causes them?
No-one knows how to separate them yet they are free from virtue.
It is because they don't know themselves that they lack virtue.
They also lack virtue because they think they are good.
Their lack of character is their own fault.
If they were truly to be genuine they would see that they need to let virtue come and go.
Let virtue come and go, let it be an ocean of virtue.
We know what this means, but it is only a mystery. Let us keep to the center, let go of the outer tangles and let our substance keep flowing.

Bend a piece of wood
and you will find it's knots torn;
cut a piece of wood out of what you have and it cannot be made straight.
The sage, you might say, uses his mind to lead,
but is always free of ruling.
To know how to lead is to be free of craving.
You're not meant to know, but it is something that is inexhaustible.
What is it that unites you?
Where is the real peace within you?
Where is the peace in your heart?
That is where you have what is meant by infinite potential.
Don't think so much about what you are,
wherever you live,
or what you wear.
Try to live your life in its fullestness.

Do not try to shape a bough;
Then it will soon warp.
Not to cut a plank
Can soon break.
Do not carve a wooden bowl;
Its outer edge can soon split.
When you leave a note,
It is hard to tell what is left;
When you have too much
It is hard to know how much is left.
In both of these situations,
You need to know that,
Because you do not know the answer,
No one knows the meaning.
Not knowing the answer is the same as not knowing the essence of life.

it nourishes its body.
Good people do not look at it,

Gentle people look to it,

It can never go out of itself.
No matter how many things are set in motion,
it takes it's proper place.
Watching all things,
one sees only their innocent faces.
Listening to all things,
one hears only their dreary sounds.
The great Tao is like a bellows;
it holds all things, but can never return to them.
It goes wherever it must,
and never falters in its desires.
Because it is so subtle,
it will not be obvious.
Watch it, cherish it, and be alone in the world.
The Tao that Tao doesn't dwell in
can stay with you forever.

The Master never dwells in the world; he merely nourishes and aids all beings.The intelligent are wise not for the glory of their intellect,but for the simple pleasure of the way of their bodies.Therefore it is with man that the world looks on when enlightened;and the wise with that of their body when not in meditation.Hence the nature of things are profuse,and space-free.The true nature of the Tao, with no outside noise, cannot be heard.It can dwell in all beings, but cannot be attained.Because of its simplicity, it can be perused by all.
<|endoftext|>
The King does not dwell in the world; but acts and feeds all beings.The sage does not look at it, but nurtures it: the Wise Man does not see it, but receives it: the Beautiful makes no distinction between it and it: all creatures follow him.

Watch its course and enjoy its return.
Learn how to appreciate the TAO,
to honor the Master.
Honor the Master.
He who honors the Tao
will be honored.
Who honors the Master
will be preserved.
The old saying:
"Not embracing

One who looks for the

The Master hears
the voice of Tao,
Does not let his mind

In the Tao world
he can be
servant or ruler.
If he serves
through faith and trust,
he can rule the world.
When the Tao is loved,
every creature on earth is
under his care.
It is in loving the Tao
that one gets peace of mind.
When tranquility reigns
both mind and body
can thrive.
After passing through the gates of Life,

To view these things as simple and ordinary is to show how short-sighted. And the people of this world are spoiled. When a man does a good thing he is looked at as an idiot. When he saves a country he is looked at as a fool.
If the Tao can be called the common good it is by which a man can know the whole universe. When he knows the universe and thereby loves the people and builds up a country, and then he stops there he can love the country again and enjoy the society.
A man who practices the Way and makes himself dear to others will get the people. He who teaches the Way and makes himself dear to people will be loved by the people. And a man who has faith and confidence in others will not be rejected.
They are called because their existence is in the middle.

The one who knows how to wait till the beginning of life is like one who keeps one's hunger to the end. Such one avoids the state of receiving a life. That is why one who works tirelessly without the aim of serving the country,

When heaven sends down the Way it is as if

The
Divine form of heaven
is like to be empty;
the
Voice of the Tao
is like to be empty;
Both are able to make good
and good to reject.
The spiritual nature of heaven
is clear and dark,
it
can take both

The voice of the Tao

there is never a low word

Hold on to

The Simplicity of the Tao is like the space it fills up to the brim.
The peace of Tao is like the peace in the whole universe.
The clarity of Tao is like the clarity of the ocean.
The goodness of Tao is like the goodness of all beings.
Therefore, the high of the Tao is bright and dark,
The sweet of Tao is sweet and sour,
The gentle of Tao is gentle and harsh,
And the lowly of the Tao is lowly and
soft.
Knowing the space of the Tao, one is enlightened;
Knowing the tranquility of Tao, one is in harmony with everything.
So, the Tao comes and goes,
but is always present.
Understanding this, the Sage

The Tao

The Way is the "U" in Tao.

Who is the leader of the Universe? He is always under the direction of the principle of Reason, the Sage.
Who is the leader of a country? The Principle of Reason uses Reason and the Sage; the latter is always under the Direction of Reason.
Who is the leader of a Family? The Principle of Reason puts everything under the Direction of Reason; the latter is always in charge of Reason.

Great rulers of states (State and Empire) do not violate the laws.
They are always concerned with the affairs of the realm.

If the latter were not concerned with the affairs of the realm,
the world would devolve into chaos.
If one were not concerned with the affairs of the realm,
nothing could seize power.
Therefore:
The Sage presides over the affairs of the World as the Principle of Reason (Existence).
The Sage preserves the Empire as Principle of Reason.
The Principle of Reason makes its actions all that can be known.
Sage does not act; therefore, he is a man.

Better a good man than a bad one. Good men are all good,
for they are in one with the Great. Bad men are the myriad bad,
for they oppose one with the Great.
Therefore good men are good, because they are with the Great.
Bad men are bad, because they oppose the Great.
Good people follow the Truth.
Bad people follow the Laws.
The Truth is a spring, the right way to follow,

Good people let go,

The Truth is so great it covers all things.
But people are not great,
and don't care.
Always be receptive to the Great.
Be as one with the Great,
which brings all life into being.

The greatest calamity is that by which calamity is cast.
The best method of dealing with disaster is to regard it as the ravishing calamity.
That is why calamity is cast upon the ravishing.
The ravishing is cast upon the exalted.
The exalted are cast upon the ravishing.
Thus a ravishing man is indeed ravishing,
and thus he remains ravishing,
and remains so,
and so he is never again left alone.
A man of ability is competent to contend with others in the manner of a teacher or magistrate. But it is his inferiorness that troubles him in comparison with others.
A man of ability will be able to respond appropriately to others' difficulties. But it is his inferiority that troubles him, and not the other way round.
Hence those who are great in their ability are the masters of others, but those who are inferior have no merit.
Therefore it is that a great person is one who is entrusted to teach and advise others, but it is the inferior that has merit.
The great person of the individual is adept at taking on and accepting the struggles of others, but it is their inferiority that will cause the difficulty.
Therefore those who are great in their capacity are able to respond to all of life, but the lesser one is not; it is precisely their inferiority that makes it impossible for them to do so.

This is called the common channel of nature, and thus it may be said to be compassionate. The earth is skillful in producing life: It seems to supply the every-man with everything he asks for. Because he acts he is impartial.

Because the Tao takes no action, the world is equal.
Because he takes no action, the world is robust.
Because he takes no action, the world is frail.
Because he takes no action, the world is hollow.
This is the parallel of the bellows:
It is never exhausted,

The world disregards him and remains indifferent.
A wise master not only disregards the world, he takes action to salvage it.
Worlds are potentialities, but he does not force them.
Although the world is inexhaustible, he has enough to last him for many years.
When he does not have enough, he replenishes it.
When the master values action and adapts himself to it,
He is able to fulfill his work.

Folks of the Tao do not think of themselves as so-called "masters" of their Tao. Their Dao does not require that they be seen. They do not regard their parents or their brothers and sisters as "fancy matters" to be kept in awe of. Neither do they consider themselves able to motivate others to be so.
For these reasons, "Eminent men" - do not exalt themselves; and - do not regard themselves as having fame. "Eminent scholars" - do not exalt themselves.
The reason why they do not exalt themselves is this: Because they do not make themselves illustrious.
Folks of the Tao do not regard themselves as beautiful;
Therefore their Dao does not delight them.
Folks of the Tao do not regard themselves as distinguished;
Therefore their Dao does not delight them.
Folks of the Tao, too, do not regard themselves as intelligent;
Therefore their Dao does not delight them.
The reason why they do not delight themselves is that they are able to accumulate a great deal of knowledge.
Therefore, even the Wise Person - of Tao does not exalt himself.
And even the Dao-Man does not exalt himself.
The reason why the sage is not exalting himself -
is because he has a great deal of knowledge.
And the reason why the Dao-Man is not elevating himself -
is because he is intelligent.
From the mouth of a wise man, the Tao will come out as the Tao of the universe.
The Sage alone does not desire to be learned.
While others do, he himself cannot forget.

The Tao is not for the superior; it is not for the inferior.
It is not for one man; he must have it.
Therefore the Master - the Superior - does not exalt himself.
The Sublime - does not despoil himself.
The superior - he does not praise himself.
The uncouth - does not excite his praise.
The Great Tao does not demand the approval of the Superior.
It is like a hollow carriage, though without wheels, it cannot leave without leaving no evidence.
The Simplicity of the Master is the Infinite Infinite.
The Excellent Tao does not let the Sublime be the material of the Tao.
It is so that the Master

Knowing that the earth & heaven are capable of performing myriad tasks
But are incapable of acting;
So if they act,
What is left is the natural state

The way to stability is to leave it
Identifying with the stream is important to its flowing

Loving and caring for the people

The heaven, having established its quiet,
Is indifferent to all things that fall upon it;
Its care for the people is indescribable.
For this reason, there are people with no conception,
and people with also little understanding;
These latter seem like straw dogs, and that their nose may not be taken off.
Forasmuch as the heaven does not possess the extreme,
it makes the people of the earth without having the extreme.
The space between the heaven and the earth,
Is thus like an unending stream,
And the more it is filled, the more has become as the earth is filled.
The heaven, according to what I have said, is not as strong as it appears.
Not having this, it is not puffed up.
Not having this, it is not unconvincing.
So, among the common folk
There are those that have no conception;
and others who have a very good idea;
and others are just what one expects them to be.
When they meet, it is like straw dogs on a plain.
But the outer circle is empty,
the earth is without flaws.
Is the earth like an unhewn log,
which, when lightly rolled up, becomes as uncut as it is rolled up?
When the people are in peace and harmony,
there is peace and harmony all around.
When people meet in unity and bliss,
as though they were on the same level, they are like a pair of straw dogs.

You shall be a guest of Heaven, and earth will call you by the gentle name of straw dogs.
Heaven and earth will turn their eyes not upon the ten thousand things, but on the straw dogs.
If heaven & earth desire the straw dogs to be their protectors, they would find themselves startled; for heaven and earth give not themselves up to the straw dogs; heaven and earth so love to trust the straw dogs that their country is not abandoned.
If heaven & earth did not keep them a straw dog's protectors, how should they be wont to trust and care for the ten thousand things?
If they were not straw dogs for the purpose of the hundred families, how could they trust and care for the hundred families?
It is just as if a chariot were put into a vast vessel; [in which] it is empty, yet not exhausted, [and] a series of straw dogs are made up.
The people go about [in] the beginning of a chariot, [and] it is not empty; [yet] they [all] go [about] before the chariot is ready.
The chariot of heaven & earth is not outstanding;
But it is on the contrary like a channel for all vessels.
If the empire [was] like a huge vessel,
It could not be used for raising ten thousand things.
Those who rule the empire must take this as their chief principle [in their administration].
If Heaven & earth did not take [them] as their chief principle, how could the ten thousand things take [them] as their chief principle?
Thus the sage never detests taking the center, and being with the people he does not fail to act and control them.

Heaven and earth do not place their confidence in the plough, the chariot, or the chariot-boar, thus their effects are distinguished from their restlessness and their progress and change.
Heaven and earth do not regard straw as the food of all the creatures, thus their vegetation is sustained; yet, they do not regard straw as the food of the myriad creatures, thus their vegetation is extinguished.
Therefore, the Sage treats the myriad creatures as straw dogs treats the myriad creatures as straw dogs.
He treats the space between heaven and earth as the thresher's cart.
Empty, yet never depleted;
indistinguishably blended with the natural order.
Whenever it is employed, there is yet more.
While it may be discarded, still more remains to be employed.
To hold the center and not resort to the middle is to secure the unity of the world.

By following the Mystic Way of life, how can we be so free from desire and desire?
Heaven & earth would never make an enemy of a small dog.
People are not cognizant of their usefulness and that they are not easily refuted.
There is no such thing as a straw man
At times when something is done and unperformed, it should be rectified.
So also is it with the cosmos:
One is not vexed at the defeat of a single ox
Yet when one is victorious, he is never blamed.
Therefore:
The sage in constancy returns to the belly.

By observing the mystic teaching of Dao, it can be said that [The Tao is] not hostile to people. Earth is not hostile to people. They are not hostile to people. But he who is Tao does not command his people to be so.
They are free from self-assertion, that is, they are not self-assertion. He who asserts himself to others becomes his own self-assertion. When other people struggle with one another, he needs to be left alone.
If the sage can come back to his own naturalness he will not be aggressive. He will not insist on success, he will not insist on holding on to anything. He will not contend in the world. He will not reject anything that could be an object of envy. He will be in harmony with Earth, with Heaven, with the myriad beings.
With the Tao he does not follow the one path or take the other path,
but returns to the source of his life and not to the achievements of the body.

Through his profound understanding of Tao, he can be intuitive about things.
Earth is peaceful and benevolent.
How can anything to the contrary be true?
Superior beings are not coerced.
When kings and officials make calls, they are always correct.
How can superior beings fail?
Everyone can overcome their worst enemy.
Don't try to force things.
Try to enjoy being.
Happiness is different from accomplishment.
How do I know that?
I don't force myself to achieve anything.
How do I know if I'm happy?
I try.
I enjoy what I do.

From the clarity of its light,

Manifesting, blurred, all things are identified.

The great Way blunts the light.
Blunts the darkness,

The greater Way blunts the light.
Blunts the light.

The space between heaven and earth is not so amorphous; it is filled with self; filled it acquires its greatness.
Speaking of it is less than necessary.
Do not speak of it as if it cannot be comprehended.
True learning takes many words and no one can grasp it.
Do not make words your teacher.
Dwell not in words.
The Tao is not simple; it is therefore all-encompassing.
A gifted person will travel far to get to one level;
a stupid person will go there to stay.
Lao Tze says: The sage has the square as his bellows; it is always empty, yet it has power.
He travels to get here and resides where there is room; he travels to get here and resides in this one place.
The more one speaks about it, the less comprehend it. Therefore, he is not worthy of distinction.
One who is not fit for distinction dwells in the mud pit of words.
True learning takes many words, it is worthless.
The beginning is not well defined. Without thinking, one should know the beginning.
And to learn from experience, one should not take one step further.

The square's not impartial,

The Great Thinker

But sees what everyone else sees
And becomes the cartwheel's axle.
Riding the cartwheel, you get things you can't get in your own home.
So for a while you talk about it
As if it can't be understood.
But you can't make it up.

To understand the Way is to be saved.
To live in the world is to be reborn.
It is the great mystery that cannot be understood,
and should never be trusted.
<|endoftext|>
The DAO will not provide.
If the present system fails the people will take to straw-dogs.
The DAO will not take,
yet who does not value it will never give.
The space between heaven and earth is a silent vessel
Suffused and inexhaustible
The more that moves, the more comes forth.
Words and drills are wasted
There is wisdom to be found in one's roots.
To be the way, to keep the DAO is to be of service.
He who knows the Way is leader of the people.
He who leads, is in charge of the world.
The Way is profound,
meant to be known
and not understood.
To know the Way is to be saved.
To live in the world is to return
to the source.
The deep is the guide,
for the way to life,
of faith in Tao and peace.
<|endoftext|>
The wise don't stand on ceremony; they're not all right, And thus they are not cut up.
When the creatures are used up, everything will make sense: the bellows work, the space inside of a brazier is filled; the more they move, the more they come out; the more we speak, the more we waste words. There's a lesson here, But if we let the matter rest and let it just flow, the world will get a lesson and come back to itself.
This is the depth of the secret Tao. Let the word go. It will be all right. If you love this world, It will come home to you.
If you love Tao, then you love this world:
That's the essential reality.
<|endoftext|>
The Way doesn't have to inspire its followers to take part.
If I can't get the crowd to join, It will then be that the crowd will part.
It does not have to inspire them, to stay the passer-by.
When the space is filled, it is said,
We will see all things return to their prime.
If people know how to return to their roots,
======================================== SAMPLE 1 ========================================
If the future leader does not try to placate the masses with sacrificial notes,
The wise leader will find that a fair note will strike the heart of any passerby.
The Tao is not self-righteous, therefore it is eternal, it is not self-righteous, therefore it is just, therefore it is not contrived, therefore it is not preprogrammed, therefore it is not dimly-intended.
It is as enigmatic as the sky.
The sky is not the self, so it is beyond self-origin.
The universe has no birth, therefore it is beyond birth, hence the self.
He who is skilled in Tao is independent of self, so no self
He who is skillful in Tao knows self, so self is beyond self, hence the self.
All things are described in terms of Tao, thus Tao does not exist, therefore there is nothing else to compare with it.
Tao is ever present and infinitely infinite.
Like the breath of nature,
The most subtle, eternal, unchanging, ever present, infinitely infinite.
<|endoftext|>
"The right way is the way of destiny; the left is the way of destiny. And this has no parallel. Now, the man who does not love his self, is without love, and the man who loves himself is without hate; while the people suffer injury, all is well.
Therefore, in the Sage there is no contention, and no being preserved. It is in this that his doctrine is likened to the sky. It is this which is white; this which is luminous. It is this which is beyond differentiation; hence it is not contrived, and in itself is nothing contrived.
It may be likened to the ugliness of this day's passage of heaven and earth."
<|endoftext|>
That which is right is called the Way; that which is left is called the Way of destiny. This is not the way of the universe. The master is impartial, and does not harbor hate; but he loves the man who serves him. Only people suffer injury, and all is good.
And because the universe is not a thing, and cannot be a thing, it follows that the Sage is not contrived, nor does he have a priori ideas.
The Dao is the light of the sky; and when you know the Dao, you do not see desire; you see what is.
If

The universe is not something that we care about.
Therefore, we need a sacred faith.

Thirty degrees angles as follows: One path leads to the world, The other flows towards self. Both have same duration: as soon as the nature of the world becomes manifest, the self appears. A person who is selfless has no need to assert his action. When the self is selfless, the world is reduced to what it is, little does it differ from the natural state. The world is the same even with a person who tries to act by example. If you try to create models, it is not like you are claiming to be different from other people. In the beginning, nature is different. Yes, the big bang happened. Do not try to justify yourself. Forget how to prove yourself. This is the most important thing in your life. Realize that the greater the uniqueness of your personality, the more wisdom you will have.
<|endoftext|>
Thirty degrees angles are angles, both useful;
one leads to the world and the other to self;
one has a long-lasting duration and the other is short-lasting;
one leads to the world and the other finds rest;
both are goods;
each is nurtured by loving-kindness.
When loving-kindness is present, the self
is subject to renewal;
when the self is subject to renewal, the world
is subject to renewal;
both are reckoned with by regard to the Natural Laws
and both are taken care of by the people.
To prefer one over the other
is to make a mistake.
To make a mistake is to get the advantage;
how much more so is this?
What is real is less important than what is heavenly.
As long as the same-kindness is not brought forth,
the people will be dependent on self-justification;
as long as self-justification is not brought forth,
the world will be dependent on self-justification;
as long as self-justification is not brought forth,
the people will be dependent on self-justification;
as long as self-justification is not brought forth,
the people will be dependent on self-justification;
as long as self-justification is not brought forth,
the people will be dependent on the Self-justification
and the whole society will be without darkness.

The wise leader is a servant, not a master, who acts with kindness and respect.
One of the people has value, one of the wise leaders has power.
Who is at one with Nature is a superior being.
What may be beautiful is not beautiful;
What may be feminine is not feminine.
To be female is to be different;
To be feminine is to be the same;
To be different is to be equal.
Who has learned to live with his soul is free of evil;
To be free of evil is to be one with the Great Mother.
<|endoftext|>
He who pays the thirty-two talents to the Tao,
And keeps his faith in it;
Can go a long way in the day.
For he who hears that he has done so,
Will listen with perfect faith.
Who acts in the world as he has done,
Will endure in the world as he has done.
Yet to him that is unworthy of the high rank,
He has good causes to contend.
To him that has grown old in good years,
He has good causes to contend.
To him that knows that he is inferior to the rest,
He has good causes to contend.
Therefore, the wise leader can honour the lowly
And the superior man the lofty.
If the inferior is lord of all,
He has good grounds to contend with the superior.
Yet he may act wisely without valuing the high rank.
For humility,
He may act wisely without thinking of himself as inferior.

Only go astray and you may return safely.
Only go up and you may fall.
Only keep to the right path and you will come up again.
Only trust in what you have, and there is no doubting it.
Only think for yourself, and there is no need to fear judgment.
If you have trust in your heart, trust will not be shaken.

He who rejects his life to return home is a man of action and not a fool, who returns home a man of action and not a fool.
He who returns home, and has received gifts for his services, cannot endure his services; he cannot endure his services; he receives gifts for his services and dares not preserve his services.
If the superior man seeks his own self-action, he is not able to receive his

The wisdom to be is to just stop learning.
Because wisdom is at peace with itself, it is indifferent to others, indifferent to gifts.
Nurturing kindness is as natural as being indifferent to flowers.
They who have the wisdom to stop learning make no claim on the world.
If leaders do not mingle with the people, the people will not mingle with them.
If leaders do not act as though they were an authority, no one will regard them as an authority.
Being the same principle within and without, Nothing is exempt.
Nothing is unheard of.
By not being self-obsessed,
you may be one with all things.

Who is in possession of the eternal law is really enlightened. Who is in possession of the peacemaking is really reasonable. Who is in possession of benevolence is really sincere. Who is in possession of righteousness is really free from wrong.
Just as people, who are not equal with heaven and earth, do not meet with anyone superior to themselves, nor will anyone else be in a position to compare them with. Thus there is nothing superior to whom one has no comparisons.
Truly, the Principle of this attainment is subject to no special conditions. It shines everywhere, is without opposites, is in general not inferior to anything.
The simple truth of this attainment is that without opposites, it is not separated from the infinite.
It is without a difference in the universe, and therefore cannot be regarded as different from. everything else.
It has nothing to do with a separate action, and therefore never accomplishes it.
Whatever is without a separate action is in no wise partial to anything, nor is it excluded from accomplishment.
No matter how people look at it, the principle of this attainment is in no wise differ- enced from the eternal law.
The eternal law is without a doctrine.
The doctrine of the eternal law is not a doctrine.
Man of insight is perfectly innocent of misfortune. He is perfectly free from self-satisfaction.
He is perfectly tranquil, without hasty judgments.
He is perfectly unprejudiced, without prejudicial views.
He is completely without self-importance, without discerning success or failure.
This, it is said, is the real character of enlightenment. Man of insight, enlightened in all his depth, lacks egocentric conceit and self-importance. This is what makes him in

The leader is a kind stranger who knows no boundary.
He is a compassionate stranger who takes in all peoples and in all situations.
The leader does not brag. He does not presume to be right.
He does not take the world for his personal glory.
The leader's words are dear to the people.
His example is a treasure to the world.
Great as the mountains and valleys are, the sky and the earth are merely instruments, tools, meant to serve others.
The sage is detached from the scheme of the universe, and finds himself home in the sea.
He is anchored in the ocean and the myriad creatures.
He is neither good nor bad, just.
He does not need to be praised, because the people respect his words.
For a leader's words are precious and heartfelt,
His example is precious and tender.
A family's passion can last a lifetime.
The leader finds this true leadership so sweet and genuine.
The family will know his strength.
The leader's words are useful for all that he says.
What is precious is his way.
The world will take the way his way.
As the great ancient sage said:
No one is happier than the
nobody.
The ocean is as it were a pool.
The sky is like an infinite bowl.
Heaven and Earth are like a point in space.
Therefore, the sage looks at the both of them
like this.
Where the ocean meets the sky, the sage looks at the earth as this.
Where the ocean meets heaven, the sage looks at the earth as this.
Between heaven and earth is the whole cosmos, the sage looks at it as this.
If heaven and earth are like straw bales
the sage could go wherever he wants
(Of course, all bales may break at any moment).
He is the closest to the ocean
and the sky
the same in his heart
the same in his deeds.
To the perspective of the vast plain,
to the view from the greatest peaks,
to the voice of a mother,
he can be found in his hallowed hallowed dwelling
an assistant in all things:
but is he really one with everything?
To the world he is more than just his words
and less than just his deeds.
For in so doing his love
he is truly the valley on which the Tao flows.

The leader is alive to the potential of the people and its life support, and speaks with humility.
Leaders of a place do not contrast a place with another. They realize that even different things are a part of the same whole, and are therefore of equal value.
Not dividing things up is the master way to realization of the potential of the people.

The Wise Person is always one with Tao;He is a man in virtue of selfless benevolence,And a man of genuine love for all beings.He is always aware of how the world is molded by desires and urges,And he is ever on the alert for any deviation from the model that is natural.Thus, he never esteems his own person or self, and sees that no one else's is even less so.The Wise Person may be generous, caring, but not unduly self-aggrandizing.He may be calculating, cunning, but not unwise.He may be inquisitive, he may be dangerous, but he does not underestimate others.What is the difference between "obtaining favour" and "using favours"? Only when the Wise Person understands that he is free of the attributes of a person are there any differences in what is said. It is because he does not associate himself with what he calls "the others" that the Wise Person is one with the natural order of things.Man, then, is not perfect without being free from need of being imperfect.Man who considers his life worth living is not "good" without his self-interest. He may be just, tolerant, while maintaining judgment, skill and forbearance.He is not one with "the Others" and should not be treated as such. If the leadership cannot act as a moral force for the people, then it is time for a change of that system.There are some people who say: "Whoever delights in having a party is not good for Tao."What is the difference between the word "being" and "having a party"? The former can be a matter of choice. The latter cannot. Do not try to rule by force. And remember that more than one person is equal in Tao. How much one value the other. Everything has been divided into pieces because some people use it as a show and act in a reckless way.Therefore the wise leader, having observed the principles of Nature, does not cast any judgments, and brings the ruling in accord with the natural law.A wise leader is

If you do not try to do too much, everything will get done.
If you can find a way to do it all, The process will stay positive, And you will not need to practice any idea of loyalty, reputation, importance, or intelligence.
This way you will develop a true heart,
Where thoughts and opinions no longer hurt.

High rulers will be good kings,
Not best for doing their own affairs,
Yet most of mankind will come to value them.
When rulers have a higher status
Then it is not simply that they can give things their want,
But that they are able to consider their behaviour.
If the ruler's morality is considered so great,
then the good and the bad will equally deserve their salutary attention.
The mind and body will not be seen for its own sake;
We do not need to justify ourselves;
Rather than seeking to justify ourselves,
Let us be resolute, and find our bearings.
When we allow ourselves to be resolute,
We will not be likely to become egocentric or sentimental.
This ensures a careful calm,
Of substance and not of appearance.
There will be no contention;
There will be no boasting.
There will be no whinging;
There will be no vain talk.
The truth will suffice.

He who is preeminent overcomes by force,
Cannot be said to have had a mandate to take charge of things,
No, not actually.
He who can act without causing trouble,
Must have had a mandate to rule himself.
It is only if we describe what he does that he is not of us a miracle,
He who cannot force his will, is in our minds and hearts a demonstration of chaos,
He who can force his will, is in his mind and heart chaos,
He who can be ordered, is in his mind and heart a demonstration of usefulness,
What is the use of coercive power if no one believes it?
And, more of all, he who cannot command but acts willingly,
It will come naturally.
People are not free from opinions and 'yeah.'
He who is free of opinions and 'yeah.'

One who has a superior is able to undo the fall of others, which in the absence of coercion occurs all the time.

Favour and praise can bring the best of times and curse of the times, but words must never be spoken of.
The Sage is one of many like himself, and the many also are the common people; but a great man is a very rare rare, so too, of those that are found all over the world.
He who follows the Tao alone is a piece of shingle. The Tao alone cannot hold on forever; this is the lesson that is really lesson.
Because not to know the Tao is foolish,
Better to know that you are not a piece of shingle.
The sage is merely a container.
The container is made up of everything.
Everything is made up of the sage.
To be one with everyone is to live in peace.
To live in harmony with everyone is to be uniquely and uniquely valuable.
The Tao cannot be spoken of;
It is beyond words.
Nothing is complete until perfected by growth.
When something is done up, another is put in place;
When something is finished up, another is put in place;
When something is done up, another is put in place;
When something is done up, another is put in position.
Because this is where things stand, a wise man is like a newborn baby;
For all things spring from the mother.
The wise, being a mother, is not like a baby.
The wise knows how to use as a vessel for anything.
He is able to think and act according to Tao.
He also knows when something is inappropriate,
He uses it as his vehicle.
Although he does not act according to Tao,
Nothing gets done up.
<|endoftext|>
The Sage is great in virtue, but seldom honored in rank.
Those, whom his precepts would command,
may be thought exemplary:
Those, whom he would not advise,
may be regarded as saints.
Therein lies the difference.
They seem exemplary to others,
and are esteemed as such by others.
They are hardly better,
and are not trusted by others.
Thus the teacher becomes their vessel,
and is then preferred to that.
Great?
He is truly great!
To excel others is to be exemplary.
To excel oneself is to be superior.
But this is not to be done to be exemplary.

It is the teacher's job to help people learn, not to make light of them.
To the full, silence is a potent source of wisdom.
The truly wise are aware of their ignorance, yet in humility ignore it. That allows them to experience and be aware of the complexity of the world.
We are in awe of Nature, or rather of ourselves. If we had our time back: would all we know now be enough to build trust and harmony?
In the end, it's all in how you look at it.

Heaven is like a valley that empties to the stream that divides it; for he who has more is cast down, for he who has less is exalted.Therefore the sage follows the Way, and detests appearances. Being a laissez-faire man, he doesn't claim to be special or superior.
He keeps to his ground.
He does not delight in pride.
To let the Tao flow in him is to benefit him.
On the basis of this, the wise man - through humility and humility alone - understands the reality of the Dao.
To allow it to flow into one's being is to gain benefit from it.
The way of moderation is the way of being.
Therefore, a man of humility can become the body of Tao.
As a follower of the Tao, he will never rejoice in being valued as the best.
One's true nature is one that benefits the world.
By being humble, he will benefit others.
By following the Way, he will act as one who helps all creatures.
He makes no show, his soft heart can be appreciated.
He can lead without showing off his ability.
Let him be free of all pretense, but he can be the center of the world.
This is not to avoid simplicity.
<|endoftext|>
Heaven is like a flowing stream (to know the Dao is to be free from confusion).
"If we have more than we need
Then we are satisfied, and if we have less
Then we are benifit.
The Sage uses the Dao In accordance with the TAO,
Truly, it is the greatest Good
(Can even be called great - we do not claim superiority).
Therefore he avoids display.
He is self-contained and pure.

Being wise is not hiding oneself beneath wisdom. Being wise is not being self-righteous. Being self-righteous is self-defeating. To be wise is to be ready for everything.
Being in touch with nature, the universe is neither hostile nor hostile. Being in touch with nature, the universe is both enlightened and peaceful. Being in touch with nature, the universe is gentle and caring. Being in touch with nature, the universe is united and harmonious.
To be wise and clever is not cunning, nor is it talent, intelligence, and knowledge. This does not mean you are without knowledge.
Being wise, being clever, being wise and clever is not arrogance. Being clever, being not clever, is not taking things too lightly. Being taking things lightly, being foolish is not natural.
The ultimate truth is hidden; the subtle essence is not ugly. The deep essence is not dark. The ultimate truth is not imaginary. What is real is within. What is not real is outside.
The relation between heaven and earth and man as things of use may be likened to the relation between the physical with the natural realm. When you learn to use your natural powers, you become useful; When you unlearn these powers, you become void; When you are void, you become alive; When you are alive, you become eternal; When you are eternal, you become the way.
The sage does not show off or show off through non-action, not through trickery, but through sincerity of heart and sincerity of nature. He does not seek self-importance or fame; he does not distinguish self from others or distinguish good from bad.
To him, it is just as useful to live simply and simply without trying to gain or gain gain, that is, if we try.

Know thy true nature: This is Tao's mother, or no more secret than the origin.Hold fast to the Virtue of Truth: Knowing Truth Is the origin of Virtue: To be at one with the Source is Virtue: To be without virtue Is the origin of Want. The Sage is at the root of the world: And is without self-interest And without coveting means. Even Virtue is Truth. The sage comprehends Truth: It is what all are trying to know.

The Sage, by being present with himself, makes himself without a concern or importance for others.It is the same for us: by accepting this teaching,
