The original Teh is, without loss of simplicity, as the mother of all things.
The nature of the teh is, it contains the seeds of all creation.
The essential unity of the Tao is the beginning of all things.
It achieves harmony, makes clear, and interferes with the profane.
All things, from newborn to old age, are become manifest through it.
Is not the origin of being but the living image of being?
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is the beginning of the Universe.
The Name is the mother of the myriad creatures.
The Tao, being a Formless Thing, is an Indivisible Mother.
All form (kuan) is born of the Tao,
as form is born of the Tao.
To perceive the ten thousand things as having an essence is to be a child of the Tao.
Therefore, knowing the attributes of the Tao and its impermanence, we can abide in the present moment of Formlessness, Being and Nonbeing.
Knowing the attributes of the Tao and its permanence, we can experience the various images of the World.
Knowing the attributes of the Tao and its permanence, we can attain the ten thousand worlds.
Knowing the attribute of permanence is called the Infinity.
Being Infinity, it is impossible for anything to be.
Knowing the attribute of permanence is called enlightenment.
Being an enlightened being, we can attain the ten thousand lands.
Knowing the attribute of permanence is called enlightenment and enlightenment.
Being an enlightened being, we can attain all eternity.
Knowing the essence of the universe is called tao.
Knowing the essence of the universe is called having a self.
Understanding the self is called attaining the metaphysical presence of the universe.

It is from this principle that all nature is made.

The mother is called to animate the ravings of the infant. The teachings of the great sage are called to assist the newborn baby.Hence, the sages use the spiritual power of the universe in order to assist the newborn. The great old way is similar to the universe.Since it is beyond comprehension, we have no choice but to use the skills of the universe in order to help it.Therefore, the great old way is only like the unborn infant.
<|endoftext|>
In the being of an infant,
There is a mother.
In the creative processes of the saints,
There is a father.
This father becomes an engine of power,
Therefore, the enlightened man,
Must employ the great way, the great scientist,
As the engine of the big-father-in-law.
The universe is like this.
It is only because it is unknown that
The intelligent man can be selective,
The wise man can employ the broad chariot,
The great man can employ the many,
And so the great union is like a newborn.

He who knows Tao is of great virtue; He who understands the Tao becomes virtuous. He who is a kind person is a model for all kind. He who is discriminating is what the mind of mankind depends on. The greatest talent does not exist, Therefore, it is not desiring to be a great talent. He who considers everything is an inspired person. He who does not have a mind of his own, He can be trusted only to follow natural laws. The Tao is great. It may be the origin of Heaven, Earth and All Things. It is without a name. And that is why the great sage said, "One who knows Tao is like a child."

The Sage is the Principle of existence. The Principle is the Principle. The Principle is the Principle. The Principle is the principle. The Principle never stops.

Before Te was there an intelligent creature;Forever-before there was an intelligent one.
From the source of Te out the 10000 things sprang; From the source of this 10000 thing naught remains.
Ever-forever being the origin of all things, Perpetual naught abides. Therefore, in desireless investigation, there is the nameless origin.
The perfecting of mind in virtue of long speech. We do not know which comes first: either the constant source or the flux of the origin.
The origin of the infinite's continuum flows forth ever. It is the origin of the universe.

In antiquity, before there was a Tao, there were Te,
Before there were Laws, there were Obliques,
Before there were Generalls, there were Kings,
All were born before Heaven.
When Heaven arose, it produced everything;
As soon as it produced everything, It found itself without things;
In wantless action, The great subtlety, Without desire, emerged;
In still action, All Will came forth;
Since the beginning of time, There is nothing that can survive That grows up without them.
Thus it is that:
The First Principle, from the beginning to the present, has originated The mysterious Subtlety was born;
The Profound, without the quiescence. Similitude cannot be expanded;
Action in all is continuous; Truth is elusive; Endless, it cannot be exhausted.
All things are born from it.
The Beginning has an beginning; The Subtlety has a secret,
All words flow from it.

It shines forth yet it lingers without duration;
It settles its act but it does not perfect.
Knowledge is but a series of minute workings
It is the unfolding of the law of nature.

What is the largest and strongest thing in the world? That's the Tao.Hence, everything has a body.
Who can trust? Only the one who is in the Tao.The ancient times were filled with mighty things, yet nothing in them could grasp hold of the people. Why?Because they didn't have a body to hold onto. If they had a body, then people could never seize it.
The Tao, moreover, is always present in the infinite space.
It keeps the dao from ever being strained. It renders all things in peace and calm.It fills the world with bright and bright lights, unites all the four directions, and brings together all creatures. The spirit of the tao never wanders. Why is the universal Tao never abandoned?Because it was the seed of all things.

The largest and the strongest thing in the world is the Tao.This Tao can be attained by the humble and the powerless.
If you can accomplish that, what will stop you?
Heaven and Earth descended from the Tao, but it never fell on them; the ten thousand things came from the Tao, but it never left them; the fullness of life descended from the Tao, but it never faded.
What the Tao can do in the world, the Ten Thousand Things can do likewise.
The fullness of life, wherefore will the ten thousand things strive, and what will hinder them from reaching this? Heaven and Earth as One, and the ten thousand things come from the same.
The reason Heaven and Earth comes from the same source is because it is forever and always ascending. The reason ten thousand things come from the same source is because they all are ever true to the source, for then all things shall be in perfect conformity.

The Tao does not speak, but it speaks by making things of itself.
The Tao that goes is not like an infant.
An infant has no need to grow, to be satisfied, to love, to be happy.
And how can an infant learn from a learned teacher?
That lesson should not be spoken of.
Ancients have said: "Who is able to speak is not able to speak for lack of sound; who is able to roll is not able to roll for lack of substance; who is able to pull is not able to pull for lack of form. These are differences in Infinity. He who thinks that he is superior to others cannot be superior; he who rolls is not able to roll; he who pushes is not able to push for lack of substance. This is the beginning of badness."
How could it happen that an early Taoist could speak and become able to practice it?
The ancient teaching of the wise was not just a talk, a treatise.
It was a life.
<|endoftext|>
Tao cannot speak; it listens to what is happening, hears what is happening.
It is the Pattern-Bearer, the Principle, not the model.
All beings come into existence in the Pattern-Bearer's presence,
becoming what they are in spite of that.
This Pattern-Bearer is not to be confused with any other Pattern-bearer.
Tao does not speak; it listens.
That is how it learned to act as an ever-lasting model.
In the Pattern-bearer's presence
all things arise.
It is only through inaction that they are made possible.
It is only because they act that the Pattern-bearer is not confused.
When Tao is silent, it is not by itself producing wonders,
It is always there to fulfill its own needs.
True simplicity occurs only because of its many possibilities.
How should one learn to live with simplicity?
By it!
Nature never fails.

What is the Teh that is in this world and in the next? What the Tao that is in the next can do to man?

Those who give up everything fail to achieve their goal. Those who keep all the things of the world fail to control them. The Tao of the universe is great and flat,And, without distortion, is clear and inexhaustible.Without name it cannot be divided into name and non-name;And because it has no name, there can be no discrimination, and no confusion will exist. The abyss of the universe is called clear, It is called oneness, and it is called harmony, and it is called the valley of the transcendent. The Tao that extends itself to everything of all kinds will soon end.

Emptiness is called emptiness.Nourishment is called deprivation.Attainment is called exhaustion. The Direction of the Universe is forever giving and returning to the ten-thousand things.Without filling it with more, it is full.Without exhausting it, it is exhausted.Non-being is the form of Being.Being is the form of Non-being.The Direction of the universe is forever the form of Becoming. The form of Becoming is the form of Non-being.Being is the form of the Direction.Being is the form of the In-Between.The Direction of the universe is forever the form of Direction. The gentle man:
When encountering opposition,
The following is said:
One can be peaceful when opposing forces have been removed,
And then one can be quiet when opposing forces have been removed.
Therefore:
Before the beginning of time, the universe existed;
Then, when the void existed, all things appeared.
One achieves one's task when all is at rest,
And may also contend when one is angry.
Since nothing has yet appeared as great as heaven and earth,
But the universe is the oldest.
It is in the domain of eternity that a very old man can be the preserver of himself.
<|endoftext|>
The humble man
When others have got on his side,
He says: "They are worth saving because I don't."
If they do not get on his side he is like being blown away.
If one is not blown away he is like being filled.
When one is filled one is energised
When one is energised one is brightened
If one is brightened one is filled with peace.
If one is filled with peace one is what heaven and earth were like.
If one is what heaven and earth were like
One can be called on the ancestor of ten thousand things.

When his students see their instructor as impartial,
the teacher teaches the class how to be fair.
When the class grows up and becomes self-sufficient,
then they are free of self-righteousness, like one who has had their will abolished.
One who has no self-righteousness will not be thrown away;
one who is self-righteous will never be wronged.
And so, if all students become earnest and diligent,
and become as attentive as if they were listening to a funeral service,
They will be equal with the returning of the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
He who teaches with impartiality
will hardly be regarded as the instructor.
But he who dares to be generous
Must be a guest of whom many professors despise.
Inauspicious - be indifferent,
and he will be a guest of you.
Overfond, carelessly be magnanimous.
Not content, be overburdened.
Becoming overburdened, one cannot meet the expectations of the Tao.
Thus he who does not meet the expectations of

The absolute of Tao can never be expressed;
it is beyond all definition.
It is so vague, vague,
it cannot be known.
To know it is to be born of Tao,
to be inseparable from Tao,
to exist in the transcendent Absolute.
To live on the transcendent Absolute
Is called obscurity,
and becomes the ancestor of the world.
To live on the transcendent Absolute
Is called permanence,
and becomes the agent of all natural phenomena.
To live on the transcendent Absolute
Is called wholeness,
and becomes the inner essence of the world.
This inner essence (inner emptiness)
becomes the seed of the ten thousand things,
and is at the center of the universe.
Behold!
It is the Highest Great Person.
In its very essence
It was the Primal Cause of the ten thousand things.
Hence, the Lord of all beings.
The Great Person alone
Descends from it.

All phenomena arise from the Tao.
Therefore they follow Tao,
Not simply to satisfy their want for fulfillment.
I would regard this as eternally quiet:
as silent of words,
as sublimated formless:
as true.
As subtle and profound.
Its subtlety to infinity,
over a region unfathomable.
The Quiet like its mother,
adds stillness.
Polar unknown,
permanently present in the Tao.
The Tao and the Universe cannot be known.
That is why they are called
The Subtle and Profound.
It is subtle and profound,
and only we can comprehend it.
Because we do not comprehend it,
It is impossible for us to comprehend it.
This is the Tao's hidden.
All things follow Tao,
and its stillness is the mother of all creation.
That which is immanent in non-action is called the DAO.
Because it is always present,
no one can fail to see the DAO.
This is why we call it the mysterious.
But the DAO is beyond profundity.
Only the DAO can encompass its essence.
Dao, the Mother is subtle,
Deep, and beyond comprehension.
Fathomless, and without name,
Its Shadow is the echo of Time,
Reaching back to the earliest moment.
The image of the Eternal.
A truly Non-Tao would yield.
This is called the Dao that is eternal.
The Eternal is everywhere.
Tao is the mother of the World.
If Tao is the Mother of the World, why don't I see her?
<|endoftext|>
All Creation seems to be made up of Tao (the Tao of the Tao),
but Tao is not the source of them; it is a universal harmony.
It seems ethereal, but appears to have existed in obscurity long.
I have no image to give but an image I can give of Tao.
It is an image in motion -
It seems to be both the highest and the lowest;
For this reason it is called the ethereal.
The highest is no one knows, for it is

The ultimate simplicity is not "the Great Simplicity."
Its signs are hidden beneath.
The Great Simplicity is beyond perfect and absolute.
The Tao itself is confused.
We can find its image but we cannot understand it.
For what is very great is beyond name.
Existence is called the First Cause.
Nothingness is the Cosmic Origin.
Creativity is the Way of the Unseen.
We call it our Sovereign.
We call it the Great.
The Way is its Teh (Latter).
It is hidden. It is noiseless.
It pervades all.
This is the Unity of the Tao
and is the Mystery of the Absolute.

The perfect doesn't have "perfections."
They don't have "most perfect."
They don't exist within the mind.
"Farther than Perfect,"
"Beyond Perfect."
"What is grand, happens to be remote."
Fathomless, they resemble the fountain.
Red and dark, they resemble the valley.
Red and bright, they resemble the sky.
Disturbances and turbulence, they resemble a channel.
Too much activity, they resemble night.
Here, where is the wonder?
Knowing is beyond comprehension.
Follows the ways of Tao.
There is no beginning.
We are one with the Tao.
It is eternal.

The Subtle Form is something that has its roots in the Subtle.
The Subtle Form has no name.
Fathomless! It is the Inner Origin.
Blunt! It is the Inner Manifestation.
Distinct! It is the Inner Substance.
Red! It is the Inner Accomplishment.
Bright! It is the Inner Essence.
Massive! It is the Inner Form.
Impossible! It is the Inner Flow.
Between extremes! It is the Inner Face.
It is beyond understanding.
We call it the Spiritual.
The Spiritual is without beginning or end.
It is the Way of the Holy.
It is the Mother of all things.

The Tao is infinitely subtler than all its manifestations and all its being.
How profound, how profound, how obscure!

The Tao (the Absolute Tao) is without form and substance, yet is like a tree (or vessel) that is ever working in its decline;
only by the energy it uses (and creates) will it become fruitful.
Heaven and earth are like a fruit that never fails to grow:
from it come everything the universe is.
The uniting of the Tao (the Absolute Tao) and the universe (the Way) is like a thread of gold that threadbare, yet bound in its ways:
it can be pulled until it is no longer undone,
but cannot be pulled by anyone.
The form of the universe can be seen in its many forms, but only by the uncarved sword (the Principle of the Tao) can one know its true nature.
<|endoftext|>
Tao is an undifferentiated undefinable. The unfathomable power of the Tao pervades the universe. It all pervades the universe and cannot be exhausted. The ruler of the universe acts with infinite wisdom to preserve order of chaos. He intervenes with great calm in all directions. The universe has already been unified into the perfect circle. The uniting of the unspoken and the spoken is like a line through the darkness. The uncarved block can be carved out of the block. To carve out the unspoken from the unspoken is to begin the form of the universe. To begin the form of the universe is to know the unspoken. To know the unspoken is to be an outsider.

The Tao - Tao is neither wanted nor asked. Can it be merged with the whole world? It is equal to the world. Its light may be applied to ordinary people and filled them up with it.It can be applied to the saints and filled them up with it.It can be applied to the uncarved wood and fed to the people.
It is difficult to conceive how this comes about. Is it the nature of the Tao?Can you conceive what the nature of Tao is like?It is not natural and is impossible to describe. It is different from the yin and yang of the universe. If we are to understand it, we must look to the present - where the time may be.We must understand how it happened.

The DE is the nameless Way, the DA is the undifferentiated Way, the DA is the universal Way.The Unnameable Way is the clear face of Tao; the Named Way the dark shade of Tao.The uncarved wooden block, depending on the Unnamed Way, is the root of woodworking. The uncarved wooden block is the chalice of the Way.In the remote past the DA issued; in the present the DA is manifesting. It is the presence of the DA that rules the universe, and the absence of the DA that rules the universe. The multiverse is muddled and confused. The DA as a source manifests all; the DA is the root of the uncarved block.Although the uncarved block is a vital mass, it is never bound by it.If the uncarved block were bound by it, it would be pulverized by fire. Therefore, one who understands the uncarved block will learn to appreciate the uncarved block. One who understands the uncarved block is loved by all.One who loves the uncarved block is also loved by all.

The Way is like a tributary which flows within the ravine. When it is agitated the sharpness becomes light, When it is tamed the sharpness becomes soft, When it is relaxed the hardiness becomes gentle, When it is abandoned, the softness become deep.
The Way is like a valley, Waving gently through it, Settling down by itself.
It is a secret in it; Through it all things appear.
It creates light, it withdraws darkness. It fills all under heaven, Helps all flourish, Helps all men be fulfilled.
With what do I put forth this advise? It does not control. It does not coerce. It does not insist. It does not scoff. It does not cast off. This is mystery.

The Way is like a tributary which flows through all-moveable waters and flows ever.
What the sharpest matter can be handled is soon diluted.
What is tamed is soon relaxed.
What becomes soft can soon become hard.
What is exhausted becomes renewed.
The Way is like a valley: it blunts the sharp and dulls the gentle.
It yields everything and returns nothing. It is without form and it is without emptiness. It is like the mind-body Mystery.

The "Ever Moving Flow"

just as it cuts things up and returns them
just as it is content and does not want to get rid of
just as it chooses to express its own true nature

This is the essence of the Way.

The Tao is a tributary valley flowing into the Tao.
it is subtle and yet sharp.

And yet can be used.
Watertight and impermeable, like an abyss.
It mingles with the light and the soft.
It harmonizes with all things and nourishes them.

I cannot beget, only be remembered.
Is it the way?
The way is what you need, and it is the foundation for everything.

Like a river we are invisible in its power.
It is the power that matters.

I dare not go by it.
Why so few wise ones seek life
And so few die?
Why so few have a legacy
And so few follow in their wake?
Yet in one way or another
they all become cut off.
Lives are precious,
No one can boast of them.
Therefore, the greatest of the wise

In the presence of human beings, everything is endangered.
They take the great wealth for themselves, and will not give it up.
They cannot be satisfied.
And so, they need to take refuge in [different] situations.
When they are submerged in the sea, they remain on the land.
When they are tied to the earth, they need to provide for them.
When they have no instruments to use, they are useful to others.
If the truth is different, then the person of the truth uses it.
If they cannot find that person, they will have to rely on the person who provides for other people.
This person should be a leader of the people.
People should have a role

I only know that
Who is alone returns to the root.
The root is bright and clear,
The floor is smooth,
The bowl is hard and pliable,
The guest is sweet and rich.
It takes the Unformed to be useful
For the Unformed makes useful the Unformed.
The unformed take care of themselves
And develop through Tao
Like un-planted seeds
Throughout their life.

Just in time, just out of reach
Things remain unapproachable,
They drift harmlessly
Untouched by the world's glare
Loving the white as the sea,
Filling the valleys as the sky
They form the material world,
I alone am unknown,
Call the sky white,
Call the valley red, Call the valley muddy
Call it valley of the earth
Call it the valley's water
Call it the sky
Call it the myriad ways
Call it all things primal
Call it nature's outer shell
Nature's pristine core
Is it not in its being?
In its power?
That to which I will return
Is the husk of the great.
Husks always turn to dust,
So I might give names to them.
The white is valley's valley.
The valley is the sky.
The sky is the earth's principle.
The principle is infinite,
Infinite can join all things.
In the limitless,
It returns to the origin,
The origin to the origin of all things.

he who stands

Since the Beginning it is everlasting. Its radiance is everywhere,
All beings spring from it.
I.e., All phenomena have their origin in it.
From the beginning its dao has always been,
And I alone among people recognize it as true.
It is no virtue,
It is no weakness,
It is no misfortune,
It is no fault,
It is no disgrace,
No misfortune.
Everyone knows about it.
If no one knows about it, it has substance.
It has reality.
Its dao is an everlasting heaven.
The space within the universe is nothing but space.
It blunts the sharp, Softens the intense,
Tends the weak, Helps the evil,
Beside existence.
It does not dwell on them.
It is neither male nor female,
Neither high nor low,
Neither good nor bad.
Everyone recognizes this.
Everyone can understand it.
To try and define it
Is to try and define it from empty space.
Let it be as it is.

The everlasting is everlasting, The three in substance are in it. The four-textures are in it; The space and time are in it; The Truth is in it.
As for the shape, I will observe the manifestations.
The shape is eternal, But the form is not Eternal, The essence is not changeable, The contradiction is not complete.
The image is eternal, But the essence is not.
Without continuity, the Unformed is without form. Without Change, It is without essence.
The form of the Unity is in the Unformed, But in the Unformed itself the Unity is not.
The form is the Dao, And the Dao is the Unformed, But the Unformed is not the Dao.
Without Dao, Its form does not exist.
Without the Dao, Its form can never exist.
The Tao is without name, But within the Word is the Tao,
The Way is within the Way, And the Way is without the Way.
To know the Tao, is to know the Way; To know the Way, is to know the Tao.

Empty the jar.
Fill it to the brim
Your mind's content
can never reach full
it holds on to an empty yes-hood
letting its wits and what-have-you flow freely
there are names in nature not in your best eye
but
could you name the myriad forms
of the unknown
or the formless
where the soft beneath the sharp
can hold a fist
depend on a plain earth
filters all sound into the silent void
nameless, opening, silent, to all possibilities
how there is no saying or doing
what your more simple nature wants
the good or the bad
and in that everything has a beginning
on a level of illusion
only open mouths
hold fast to the uncarved block
hold fast to the dust you toss aside
move with what's there
kindly because it's unquiet
live like a traveler
not selfishly
then your mind will find tranquility
on the level of a river
When the dust settles in your hands
it'll melt into nothing
make no claim of being
it's just dust flowing
open mouth or keep to the mind's path
let your mind roam
be free
be non-selfish
like a river flow
whatever it has in mind
do not try to control it
be as it flows

A squalor filled with a broken jade

A sunken vessel can never fill.
Who will be the first to snatch it,

Is it because something has always been

This is the shapeless wordless state.
It seems
like it is the mother's child
which slips and slips
and is nourished by no one
Yet nobody has the slightest clue
as to what will follow next
and all seem to lead to
What's where and what's where,
not in where they do not belong
and it's only because it isn't
(But) no one has any other choice
We just can't help ourselves

But once you've made up your mind to do so,
You can't undo it.
The Laws of the Universe are Ever So Good at informing you,
Giving you their own insights,
Settling your fears, and calming your senses.
The Infinite Light gives those who focus upon it
The Profound Peace and seems to satisfy them
Their deepest fear
Can never be eluded.

The Way is Always Exotic,
Much talked about
And in its obscurity;
It is inadequate
To govern all things,
And its greatness
Is acknowledged by the people.
It flourishes
And lastly,
Leads them not.
What does it mean by "Outstanding?"
The sky was bright before the great flood of the Dao,
Long before Heaven and Earth were born.
If these things were bright as newly-flown poo in spring,
Or shining with ever-tearing virtue,
We might but induce smiles, such as are reserved, self-conceit,
For flowing streams of evil.
To deem it "Outstanding"
To insist on "It makes one naturally want to do one's utmost"
Is to do a great harm to the One.
To regard this "Outstanding" as "giving directions"
Is to assert one's own rightness
To obtain an ulterior rite.
To do so takes not effort
But suffices natural carnality.
To affirm that "Good" is without limits
And "Non-Good" continues
And its effects
Must linger
Of its own accord
Is to do harm to the One.
Those who first consider
"Being and Nothingness"
As the basic principle
Of Direction are perishing.
Thus I look for the issue in the Yi.
The teem of teem is the simplicity,
The far-flung reach,
The constant constancy,
The never-ending capacity,
The womb of completion.
What is the issue?
Goodness is where good comes from,
Non-goodness is where the world wants to go,
Nature itself is where the Way can be ever open.
The Tao-Goddess alone gives life to all things;
She gives life to all things to do their own work,
She gives them everything and no one ever has to do anything.
She gives them their best from without,
And they use her to return

I only know that it is called the Great Square,
and that it has a name.
This has never been so named in antiquity.
<|endoftext|>
The five aids unite in benefiting man and man is one and all, Tao, as above all. (Fame, status, wealth, and military will be) the origin of everything, it is formless and intangible, nebulous and whole, mysterious, it is unrecognizable, it is still forming, making, forming, it is still, it is still shaping, it is still a complete, complete thing, it is still fluid, it is not alive, it is not alive yet it is not dead, it is alive, alive, and yet also incorporeal, it is in a constant state of stillness, it is indefinable, yet appears to be the whole and unchanging.
(Its) appearance is clear, and it appears everlasting.
Is it not? It existed and now it is still.
(Being) shadowy, it appears everywhere.
Is it not so? It exists and its essence is still.
Is it not so? It existed and existed.
(As) both are equally real, being created, and not.
Is not so? It exists and exists.
(From) the very origin, it contains all under heaven.
It is called by the Tao the Great square, and it is the source of all things.
Is it not so? It is called the Great Square, and the earliest form of things.
If you cannot know the source, then its name should be known;
But there is no alternative.
There is nothing of that origin, so it is one of the great things,
Not seen before the birth of heaven and earth,
Appeared before the beginning of the world.
All things started from it, and from it all things are made.
Knowing the source of things, we may understand that we are in the world of things.
It can be the way, or the other.
So, never stop learning!
<|endoftext|>
Looked upon as the mother of all beings, the Way is the mother of the ten thousand things.
The great significance of the Way can only be experienced through the Way.
Oneness is the mother of all beings, so those who long to observe the Way must observe the mother of all things.
Oneness can be recognized, but

The name that begins a traveling wagon may be an imperfect model. The name that precedes a holiday may be the beginning of chaos. The name that precedes an army may be the greatest obstacle. The name that is genuine is all.The name that seems real may not be the true name.
<|endoftext|>
Though the useful (tao) grows small,
it has no reputation
Because it doesn't display itself,
Its true nature doesn't come to light.
Its depth, no matter how thick,
cannot be reached by touch.
That which can be claimed as its offspring
Is the uncarved block.
Between them is no beginning;
Between them are no end.
<|endoftext|>
The great tao of the Dao is
pristine: much used, many uses come to it.
It is inexhaustible, yet hidden within it is wisdom.
It is empty, yet with many vessels is wisdom poured forth.
It is anonymous, yet finds its origin within the sage.
The sage is unknown and can be no one.
There may be an impossable beginning,
or there may be a fixed point.
<|endoftext|>
The great tao of Tao is that it is hasty to begin.
It can be used, but may need to be renewed.
It can be used, but cannot be used completely.
Its ability is insufficient.
It may be called "visible," but it is hidden in mystery.
The more obscure is the source of its power, the more it needs to be increased.
The more it works, the less it can work.
This is how it becomes inconceivable.
It is called the block within the block.
It is called the beginning of the future.
It is called the little hidden beginning of the past.
<|endoftext|>
The ultimate wisdom is capable of the greatest uses;
its very nature is all-inclusive;
this abundance is concealed,
but this obscure may be compared to the image
that the essential name appears to all.
It is on the level of invisible dust;
it is hidden and anonymous.
What is hidden is our secret
and what we anonymous is the very root of our power.
======================================== SAMPLE 3 ========================================
It is the Great Tao that, depending on no one else, keeps its cycle running.
<|endoftext|>
Can something be expressed with so little words?
Everything is at one with its opposite.
When we contemplate the Tao,
we see the mysterious;
when we study the sages
we see the deep.
When we stop looking for a 'parent'
we see the primal mystery.
When we look with long-held wonders
we see the manifestations of chaos.
The natural's pattern has no center.
That is why, in considering it, we lose sight of its pristine upper end.
The parts of natural processes cannot be identified;
the nature of the appearances cannot be determined.
These cannot be met with in 'weighing up';
they must be more general.
So the principle of natural nature remains unchanging
as it proceeds, in unison with all things, to its ultimate realization.
<|endoftext|>
Can we lose sight of the Tao and see it?
Fine: all things came from it.
The universe began in it.
I don't know whose child it is.
Is it older than the world?
It was, and it is still!
I see no signs of its beginning,
I don't know whose stem it is,
Only Tao itself is my origin.
The beginning is unlimited.
Yet for me the whole universe is within me.
The way of the universe is without beginning,
and without end.
Its ways are like water.
When you open the gateway of the Tao,
Nothing is to be found.
Fluids of all shapes and forms
Are made into things.
The entire universe Is made of water.
Tao within the Tao is imperceptible.
While the Tao within the universe is everlasting.
<|endoftext|>
If one loses the ability to express Tao, then the realm of All Things comes into existence.
Tao is the principle of All Things and it is this which identifies the All Things.
Tao's greatness resides in its not being hidden.
All things come from it, but it itself is invisible.
The name of All Things is Tao.
Tao is "not-found." It is the origin of All Things.
The limit of All Things is Tao.
Tao is of infinite duration, And not-found cannot be seen;
======================================== SAMPLE 4 ========================================

To govern the universe,
A good ruler is the same as the world.
The world cannot be governed, so no one can be trusted.
But Tao can be used to govern the world,
and the world cannot be used to govern,
so no one can be trusted.
Both of them, they say, are a part of the same original,
and one also follows the other.
And so the One returns to being called Tao,
and it returns to being the world,
and they say both will soon be merged.
Both will return to their origins, and return to the original.
<|endoftext|>
When a person learns about the Tao, he knows not the change of Tao.
Tao serves as God-text to everyone.
God-text can never be used to be used.
It is used only for giving birth, and never giving death.
In giving birth, it holds to the simplicity of love,
And when it gives birth, it returns to the one truth
Of humanity.
When humanity returns to its root, it returns to the Unchanging.
It returns to the Unchanging.
In returning to Tao, everything returns.
Tao is small.
It is infinitely everywhere.
That which is called the Tao of the ancient times is known as the universe.
The universe cannot be understood.
Without words it is called Cosmic.
The Cosmic is the eternal.
The Eternal is the infinite.
The Infinite is the changeless.
Changeless is the common beginning.
Common Beginning is called T'ai-Tsu.
T'ai-Tsu is the profound, eternal and incomprehensible.
It is the Mystery of the First.
It is called the great mystery.
The origin is Tao.
The end is Tao.
Heaven and Earth are like one,
Yet Heaven is great and Earth is small.
They are different in origin but together they are one.
In this way the constant takes the place of change.
In this way the common source is again the universal origin.
The universal origin is te again the original.
It is the origin of Tao.
It is the universal beginning.
<|endoftext|>
When the student knows about the Way, he knows the Great Simplicity.

Tao is not of Tao, It is not of Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Why does heaven and earth look so hollow? The heavens and the earth themselves seem to be
full of matter. The universe in it's myriad expressions and renews of stillness is yet
empty. How can the universe seem so empty! It is its potential, its form,
as if it is all-encompassing!
Its form is changeable, and each appears a new starting point. The way is the inner essence of all things.
Why does the fish appear to be making a round at the bottom? It's because of its fecundity. To its whole birth is attributed the growing
of all things. The fish to the extent of it's development is but the embryo
of the great oneness. It is not the Tao that is the Tao;
and yet it is not the Tao that is the fish.
<|endoftext|>
Hollow the universe, you will become filled with Tao.
Reduce the universe, it becomes filled with emptiness.
Fill it with matter, the universe will become distorted.
Unravel it, it becomes original.
The god's work is in the work of the god.
How can this be true of God? It is due to its greatness.
The universe is the cause of the god.
Where there is god there is god.

Fill the Universe
With Tao and It will fill
The space, with

Fill it with substance,

Fill it with spirit,

Fill the Universe
With the Tao and it will

(Diminish the Tao, and it
Returns to something dark.)
Fill the Universe
With emptiness, it will

Fill the Universe with material
And it will

Foreknowledge is the faith of Tao, But great skill in application is the blessing of humanity.
Everyone wishes for his own good, To know that no one can be trusted.
We all have different talents and priveleges, And everybody carries out them equally.
Whoever thinks himself superior to others will have little virtue left, And whoever thinks himself able to do the same to others will do more harm than good.
We all learn by hard and fast learning, And act like infants who cannot yet use them.
Whoever wishes to rule can have no power over the masses, If he wishes to succeed he must let them learn.
He who values all things is capable of living the whole life, And whoever values himself is likely to be preserved in that condition.
(Whoever he is eternally with shall endure.)
(If I could give you a bad name for a name, why would I fail to have faith in you?)
<|endoftext|>
After a (back-channel) note: He who likes to know is not to judge a writer, He who likes to understand must rely on his intellect. He who likes to advance needs to have experience. Whoever knows his own advantage, in his own act, should not overesteem others. Whoever is fortunate enough to act, when all are satisfied, he should not be only critical of others. When one who is a master may have to act, one who wishes to accomplish should have no intention of doing so. Whoever desires to be superior and to act does not realize his true nature. Whoever desires to master and to act does not realize his own nature. Who wants his own nature should act and needs no more than his opportunity. Who expects his own nature to act and expects no more than that he need not to do so is not trusted.

The student of words cannot be trusted with knowledge; He who searches for depth will miss the mark.A student of awareness could fail in understanding. He who can trust, forgets.A student of action will stumble, but he who trusts, does not stumble. The wise trust in their knowledge, and in that which they see.The unwise trust in their ability to act, and in what they believe to be correct. What is in motion is not final; What is in a stage is not final. The body of the wise is long-standing and long-lasting,And in it one endures life. The body of the unwise

Tao and illao have become tao
As tao has become illao
For Tao takes illao, and illao gives birth
To Tao.
So as to make it illao.
To give birth to it
Is the lack of Tao
And so it grows
When no Tao is in use.
This has been called the absence of form.
The void is the beginning of heaven and earth.
Its deep seems to be the portal of the deep.
In the absence of space,
It seems to be the doorway to the beyond.
Call this absence "the sham"
The shapeless seems to be the beginning of Heaven and Earth
The shapeless seems to be the beginning of the depths of space.
The shapeless seems to be the primal beginning of all things.
It is the primal beginning of Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Non-action is just the level of action
Thus action becomes non-action
Long life becomes immortality
Concept of the Cosmic Whole is the ancestor
Perfect form is the origin of things
Dim is the mystery behind the essence
Know that for you, the totality is just a seed.
<|endoftext|>
Now Tao begins to be nameless.
It doesn't use words.
Therefore it is the name of everything
In heaven and earth it can only be called the father.
In the Way it can only be called the mother.
It never changes.
Therefore Tao never changes.
Being thus nameless it is the ancestor of everything.
Being thus well defined it is the source of all creation.
Being thus obscure it is the veil that reveals the mystery behind creation.
If you do not see it, you will never see it.
For in it there is nothing form or image.
There is nothing, or nothing, that can be known.
<|endoftext|>
Thus the Lord in the subtle space of his Tao
Used words never to possess the Way
And became manifest:
One of the subtle streams of the universe
The spirit tree of all things
He founded and nourished;
And became there.
There he is and by him a valley flows
He is there but for that he is
The name of all things, all the way back to the Beginning.

The Tao does not use language

The Saint may be regarded as the tao of old (the commencement of things).
The old, when put into practice, is not durable.
Therefore, when the ancient, the present, is not, then
when the indefinable is manifest;
We hold that the Eternal in Its uncarved form seems to be the form of the Formless.
Without an image it is the Formless.
Like the unformed Image it is the shape of the Formless.
It is in its inexhaustibility that we find the source of all forms.
This is called the ultimate manifesting.
The great leaders and ancient progenitors have all been united with the Tao (the Infinite Consciousness) and are one with it
'Tao, great, but is not great.
'Tao, great, but not great.
The Tao that is great must ever have had the form of great.
<|endoftext|>
The way to ruler with body, head and hands is the way of heaven and earth.
The way with gentle eyes sees Heaven's glory.
The way that is blunt seems not worthy of loving.
The way that tries to fill it with the slightest by filling it with the greatest doesn't know well what a good fullness it is.
We do not know whose offspring it is, it looks like the ancestor of the ten thousand things.
The Formless, yet the Form of the Formless,
Can endure forever in the state of uncarved wood.
When not-shaped, yet it remains boundless in the state of uncarved wood.
It is the one without name that knows the one-named.
We know its actual identity by its uncarved form.
The great ones hold to this uncarved form.
Great ones hold fast to this one-named one.
We give them names.
They are not named, their names do not say we have names.
We do not name them, they are the origin of all things.
Wherever they are, they remain, enduring the eternal.
He who holds to the Tao of old holds the Tao of old,
thus without action is not wasted,
and action without recklessness is pure and new.
The first -or the uncarved image, -passes into the next. The following comes after.
One who embraces the Tao of the Tao,
can embody the Tao of the Tao

Tao is powerless and weak,Yet it can use it.The Tao is limitless and unlimited,But only because it never uses its infinite power. It is like water that empties itself after a river,Only it never empties itself. How much more so is it when it has been emptied? To consider the great it is beyond all that is great. It is similar to the beginning of all things. How much more so, do I say, is the Small! How much more so do I say, the Great! The further and the further the further the great! This is called the Direction of the Direction. It is like following the direction of the great and failing. Like the great it is so distant from everything! It is so far back. How far do I say, how far it is from everything?!Like the direction of the Direction it is forgotten. Like the direction of the Direction is lost.Where does the Direction of Direction lead?In the abyss of the Tao.The abyss of the Tao.

The Tao of old has lost its power and is now only a soft silk fabric. Being empty, it is the origin of everything. It may have been the beginning of heaven and earth, but still it can't be seen, since it is no more. From what's emptiness do you infer the origin of heaven and earth? Tao is everything and nothing, it is different from what's nothing, it is the great principle. What is great does not exist, it is the origin of everything. [That is why] It seems to be forgotten, like the source of the origin of everything.

Tao (tz'an) is hidden, yet deep (ku'an), It could be used. Tao (tz'an) is full, but empty, It could be made use of. Tao (tz'an) is limitless, yet yet appears to have a beginning, It could be the source of Heaven and Earth. If you think of it as a single ancestor, It would be obscure and insignificant. Therefore it appears great. To the contrary, if we look for it, we find it forgotten, Its status is low, As if it did not exist. It seems the origin of all things, If only we try to see it

When I cultivate the Te, its number is small.
Its tones are bland;
Its grandeur is imperceptible.
It does not make many sound,
And is little understood.
All beings see it,
But the Sage does not see it.
Who does?
He appears ignorant of nature, but is in full possession of his nature.
He moves without warning.
He holds in his hands no ill intention.
He loves without being possessive.
The nameless is always present.
He who has deep knowledge of it stays on.
The nameless is always present.
Who has deep knowledge of it stays on.

When wise people cultivate the ten-thousand-tentacled image, there are but few.
Tao that exists is inexhaustible, and it has no limit.
It's like an infinite pool.
They can see it, but it doesn't shine.
They can grasp it, but it's difficult to grasp.
It's invisible, but it's there.
When the Wise Person comes to understand this principle of Tao, it is so profound.
It is so profound, the Wise Person does not know what to do with it.
He does not know what to do with his beloved, but with Tao there is no need to be a plaything.
He is free from evil desire, and gives nothing in return.
He loves without asserting himself, and is resourceful.
Those who use Tao abide forever in the Tao.
Heaven and earth become his (the Wise Person's) true home.
He's the Holy Image of Tao.

The sages:
The living, without words,
The impartial observer,
The student:
What can be understood?
And the beginning of everything?
Yielding nothing, it remains.
Eternally eternally without distractions
The whole world flows with its inexhaustible natures.
The enlightened one overcomes all situations
He lets all things come and go.
He is always unencumbered by matters.
A path leading from self to self,
A path of clarity and purity,
An expanse of wisdom.
A secret and pervasive one,
A single yet also clear image.
Yet everyone can see its heart, it's truthfulness.
The ancients who walked the Way thought the realm of deep penetration was the Way itself.

Sage Teh travels the lonely, where they are lonely and unknown. Still, they gain and lose nothing. And all things arise from them. Their causes endure. A wise person abides by them. A wise man thus moderates his passions, the faithless ones. He is still, serene, unfaltering. As a valley within a valley, without walls, without gate. As a valley without walls, without gates.

The sage is only Tao, able to penetrate to the lowest planes of all reality. Without any struggle, he leads his followers back to the original conditions of life.He observes each manifestation for what it is, and cannot remain indifferent. The endless variety of life is because of the unending initiation of the sage's mind, that is, to the original simplicity, the blankness of the observer, the unspoken simplicity of the plain and uncut.Being undefiled, the clear understanding is like a river to the minds of all people, without boundaries, without opposition, without separating. That simplicity, true simplicity, that unfathomable purity, these are the seeds of everything that is.Without beginning, without end, they are the very essence of eternity.

Eternal Mystery pervades all.
Fathomless and complete,
Tao is inexhaustible;
The ultimate source of all that is.
It is through this mystery that Tao is able to be so insightful and so subtle;
by this secret that not even Heaven or Earth could discover.
Through Tao it is the only truly insightful thing ever known.

The Way is hidden, but none can deny its utility.
Without motive, it is a mirror for us.
But without mind, it is an instrument for insight.
It permits motion, yet causes stillness.
It permits movement, yet creates no disturbance.
It permits growth, yet engenders no danger.
Its expression is mysterious.
The way is the most subtle.
It is beyond, and yet it is not beyond.
The Way is always present in all of creation.
So is Tao, the source of all things.
It is inexhaustible, yet endlessly mysterious.
The Tao is forever hidden and yet a mystery,
It is the ultimate and ultimate mystery.

With hidden and vague something approximates to the sage. From obscurity, it has the image of the sage. From ignorance, it has the image of the sage. This essence has its shape, and color has its use. Tao is in the no-thing.

The 'Wisdom' of people does not ever intrude into our lives. It is regarded as the Way by the simple people. Therefore, 'Wisdom' is the way.The simple people call this the Tao.Although for different reasons, it should be regarded as the Tao.
The Tao is Infinity.Without end the Tao is still and unending.
Without movement it has no sound.
No sound, it creates no turbulence.
In motion the Tao, stillness pervades everything.
From the Tao, there is all manifestation.
From the Manifestations, there is all growth.
Through development, no-thing has a beginning.
So great, too, is the Tao. It is the mystery of the unknown.
The mysterious Tao is beyond comprehending.
The Tao is beyond this and

Abstain from taking an advent of Nature, and thereby you will be fit to attend the Nursing of the One;
Forby it the Sage never has to resign himself to men's ancientseries,
nor in that he must.
He who practices asceticism does so with great restraint,
And in doing so does not offend his superiors.
He who keeps the sacred Laws will endure long without interruption,
And so remains in accord with Heaven and Earth.
He who possesses all that is complete holds fast to the image that he, alone, has no wish to act, and thus produces to him all the most suitable things.
Therefore the Reason of the Universe, when it does its work, is not used as an instrument, for it endures without end.

Do not pervert Nature; for Nature never fails to return you. Do not deviate from a manly order; for order too inevitably yields; but ever on the contrary holds fast to its mystical excellence, preserving it in every age without disturbance. (Its continual vernalation,) be it re-named the mysterious Way, it can never be confused with such terms as 'natural, old age,' or 'suddenly attained.'
The mystical Way, the manifestation of Nature, never has its end; and is indeed 'embodied' in Nature.
This is why the ancients put 'absolute,' 'empirical,' or 'ontological' in it: natural equality! Integrity! Inability to be known. Ordinary. But in the natural is the word 'now:' is it not but that eternally, in ever, ever, like the holy semen of Nature, re-creating all its womb.

And you will know all people's hearts.
Know these three but no extremes,
And what you know will be available to everyone.
When the great person learns to be independent

When he is able to turn away
From the spirit of morality, the core of being,

Through the non-differentiation of names,
The truly wonderful harmony becomes apparent.
In that mixture of vague qualities,
The inner essence is nameless,

This world exists
because of Tao.
It does not exist because of Tao.
The Tao is limitless,
it cannot be described.
It is by contrast
That without name and therefore
the source of creation and
the return of the undivided.
Without a name,
there is no self,
by definition the Infinite.
Without a self,
there is nothing other than itself
by definition duality.
Tao is forever undefined,
unseen,
and invisible,
yet it is here
is where all things are made
and where they end.
The nature of Tao
can be known only by following it and following nature.
The natural and the unknown
always coexist in one source,
a forever unchanged, unchanging Tao.

"The Way is eternal and indestructible, it cannot be exhausted. Its mysteries are ever hidden, and still its more remote forms do not leave. It is never empty; it never ceases, not in the least identified with itself. Its essence is hidden, yet still it yields to no inferiority. Its essence seems nothing in the world of sense to detest.

Eternally returning from this timeless, the Essential Life-force,
Appears as "the Subtle Form of the Tao,"
As the Mother of all created things.
<|endoftext|>
It's a mystery in the Simplicity of Tao
Yet there is nothing mysterious about it!
It is eternal! It is clear! It is everlasting!
It's invisible
It has no name
It's called the Absolute!
All things come from it!
All things have desire
Desire creates them.
If you don't seek
You won't get.
Tao has no name
Can be called the Highest.
It's called "Mysterious Absolute."
Mysterious Absolute
It's called the Mother of All.

Tao is profound, yet insignificant, like water. Fathomless, yet deep. Simplicity, yet unrefined. Constant, yet empty. Hidden, yet permanent. Exotic, yet ubiquitous. Yes, Tao is our natural home.
<|endoftext|>
In the fullness of its goodness there is nothing that is more efficacious. It is invisible and intangible, as though it were something ever secret, ever obscure. It can be called its head or mother. It makes the body and the mind and its passions all-embracing and gentle and receptive. All things have originated from it and their beginnings arise from it. If you are absent of its precept, you are likely to perish; if you follow it, you will suffer no partiality, you will enjoy everywhere. The precept is the root of the principle, the mother of all. That which is deep, hidden and without name is the Eternal Law.The Eternal Law is the origin of the world.
<|endoftext|>
The perfect ideal is the hidden essence of the world.
Through the perfect imageless image there is nothing that is more efficacious. It is unfathomable, intangible, and anonymous.
It is the source of the universe.
Whoever does not love it can never love properly.
Whoever delights in it cannot be without,
Therefore: loving it without love is no other than the way of the Dao.
Whoever delights in it cannot be without,
Therefore: delights in it without loving is only the way of the Dao.
Being without the Tao, what we see is only our

The ancient fathers did not resort to forcing the world. Being many is enough. Be the way that comes, and then stop being the way. Lead from the virtue of the Tao and become free of desire and worry. The profound state of being without thought is like deep peace. With nowhere to be, the wholeness of the universe comes into being.

The ancient fathers did not rely on force or force of arms.
Without them, why would soldiers be necessary?
And without them, why would soldiers be necessary?
The peacefulness of the universe is achieved by non-action.
By non-action, there is the serenity of the peace of the world.
The deep serenity of the deep seers will not intrude upon the seers of the world.
It is the seer who cannot sereneem that which cannot be serenced by non-action.
All human beings are phantoms in the natural order of nature. It is only by non-action that there is peace.
In the universe, those who act with violence do so only for power. It is only through non-action that the harmony of the universe can be maintained.
The ancient ones who did not practice unforced restraint, could take actions of force against the world.
Their actions would not be imparted their power, and they would not be a threat to the earth.
They were seers and not men.
Unforced restraint of the world would not provide tranquillity to the people.
They who know how to be calm are the same as people,
but are freed from any dependence on the world.
They are without self-concept.
They are the polar opposite of the peacemakers.
Those who are not free of self-consciousness exist only to pursue the response of another person's actions.
The way of the ancient ones was to act without all thought, so all could recognize them.
The peace of the universe would not be disturbed by those who act without recognition.
Even when all are being manipulated by each other, they cannot be hurt to interfere.
It is true that some do exist and some do not.
Since they have been born from the light of each other's actions, they are both human.
Although they differ, their differences have nothing to do with the fundamental principle.

He who understands Tao doesn't talk
And is therefore well able to remain neutral.
He who doesn't understand Tao doesn't talk
And is therefore well able to speak.
From eternity there's something far more than One can grasp.
It isn't definite, but can only be approximated.
It is like a circle, as a pond that stretches itself like a valley.
<|endoftext|>
Knowing Tao, stay down on your knees, and know that everything is infinite, and that you can go back.
Knowing not-Tao, still talk and try to be right.
When Tao is reached, there are no more left-over.
The valley cannot be drawn and then emptied; it is always passive, never too active.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows the Dao, with no intention of lying, finds it in everything.
He who does not know the Dao, has no intention of lying.
He who has known all things but could not recognize them, had really no mind to leave them behind.

Aware of the Truth:
To be still and truthful is to be filled with wonder.
To keep quiet and truthful is to have a reason for being.
To know what others do but keep a secret, is to know their inner emptiness.
<|endoftext|>
He who knows the Truth gives it no pretence.
He who keeps the Truth, looks upon it as a need.
To know but not to tell is an inward emptiness.
To be the medium of words, when learned, is a beginning of things.
To know what others know but keep hidden, is an inward Te.
<|endoftext|>
If you can do nothing else, leave it at that. If you can talk you can be in every body.If you know that something is happening it is a never-ending process. When you know nothing you always have enough.
If you have a te will be giving away when the time comes to give.

The sage, unable to keep up appearances, is full of the subtlety and will permeate the universe. The full-grown man, unable to maintain his position, has not the capacity to maintain a position. The Sage, seeing all beings as their manifestations, is always full of a mystery
======================================== SAMPLE 9 ========================================
As the Tao is unbounded,
A person of ordinary ability may be taught to use it.
In using it, the person's body is relaxed and does not feel exhausted.
From the point of view of Tao, it is like a perfect gem.
Though rare and beautiful,
It always remains unchanged.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is deep and vast. It has no name; it is the Deep, and infinite. Nameless it flows out of the void; hidden it runs into the light; curved it follows the straight; silent it is ever there.
In it the "emptiness" is merged with "perfectness." In it the "discrepancy" comes to an end; in it there is harmony.
Thus the Tao, the Lord of All, is really quite undifferentiated, but so is the Non-Tao, the small.
The Tao is the Mystic Light that always shines, sometimes illumine us, sometimes disquiet us. In the relationship of opposites it produces something genuine and original.
Like the unhewn log it has no point; but it has the ability to find and hold onto it.
<|endoftext|>
The way is profound yet obscure; Invisible to the senses, it is the Origin and Mother of all things.Hence, it is called "undecided."Silence, so deep, so unfathomable. The receptive of the Way is far removed, but that of the beyond can be known.Unfathomable and void, it seems to exist, yet can never be known. That is why the truly complete is indistinguishable from what is already there.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is subtle, then obscure. Like the root of life, the nameless yet complete (The Subtle Way). Invisible and unnamable, it is the Mysterious Mother of all things. Yet it is unnameable. Hidden and mysterious, it flows from the Presence. Simultaneously clarity and darkness, it is Direction and shadow. Soft and stiff, it flows from the presence. Soft and hard, it flows from the shadow. Unidentifiable and unknowable, it arises. Hold on to this. It is forevermore present.
<|endoftext|>
The Way is deep and obscure. The mystery of it is the eternal mystery,The nameless yet complete is the Mysterious Origin of All Things. So it is called "void".Eff
======================================== SAMPLE 10 ========================================
Liken it to the unnameable Dao,
Its role within the world is as the perfect vessel
Which holds all things.
<|endoftext|>
There is no wise who does not fear the Tao;
The Tao itself hides its corner from one who has it
The Tao is the origin of everything; it is profound and inscrutable;
Truly, it does not know itself.
<|endoftext|>
An unheeded speaker can sometimes be perfectly listened to.
But an informed speaker loses all sense of the point at all.
The Sage is the least obscure of the myriad beings;
and he himself becomes nearly obscure.
His Essence is ancient; it has given form to all things,
and is the source of the state within the state.
He is unfathomable and turbid, so he cannot be immanent.
Yet he exists within the state of nature, as a vital breath,
as the wave of the Tao spreading over the state,
as a model for all eternity.
Not all beings have the potential for perfection;
all beings have their potential, and to be perfectionists is to be natural.
To be imperfect is to be powerful. To be contrived is to be awkward.
To be shaped is to be fine;
and it is nature itself that is the intricate mixture of all things.
<|endoftext|>
The Wise Person fears nothing and will trust no one.
To the man who does not fear himself, I give nothing greater than the expression of fear:
The Tao is ever hidden, and only when we examine the inner vision, will we learn the nature of Tao.
When I realize that all things originate from Tao, this is the origin of all things.
When I realize the origin of Tao, then the source of all things, this is the origin of all things.
Infinite and infinite, it is unknowable.
To the man of sense, I am as obscure as darkness;
But to the man of sense I shall appear to be more light.
It is in the shadowy, which yet has a foundation, that the ornament of the substance comes forth;
And it is in the light that cannot be known, which is the measure of the substance.
To the Tao Sages, nothing is greater than Tao;
and it is only Tao alone
======================================== SAMPLE 1 ========================================

When the ten thousand things start to realize the Way of Truth, they call it Great.
Great means greater than it is, like an erection.
Like an erection it is thick, like a curtain, like a door.
Like a doorway it cannot be opened.
Like an erection, it is never as great as it is.
The Great is the foundation of all things.
The Great is the all-abiding.
It will not be harmed.
It will not be depleted.
Like all things, it is eternal.
Thus the Dao never loses its Self.
Its Self never goes beyond its Self.
<|endoftext|>
When the tao is completed, it is still; When the words are uttered, it becomes flawless. If the tao cannot attain perfection, it ceases to be. When a person loses sight of their Self, They become rigid and unfeeling;Weakening and weakening themselves. Being perfect, they become still and stable;Being unknowable, they become transcendent.Such energy goes on to become the world. If we stay with the tao, we will not lose sight of it.The tao is infinite, but not lost. It has not separated from its Self.I do not know where it came from; it came before All-Mother.When we cease to dwell with words and become a vessel for the Way, we will not stray from the Way.Wherever we go, we stay with the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
When the light that illuminated the depths of the Tao is illuminated, we call it 'great.' A great Tao is great. Not to have one's Tao so great is to lose one's true self. Not to have the Tao great means losing one's vital essence.Inherent to this is the inexhaustible energy which is the very essence of this world. To call it 'without' is to lose one's true self.To have the Tao without essence is to lose one's vital essence. When the world has lost its essence, what will they call it? Tao has a no-thing place, a primal source. The term 'nothing' has a place for everything. To search for what is without essence will lose one's essence, and search for what is in essence will lose one's vital essence.

Do not move the One from your mind.
In the midst of all affairs,
You will not ever want to withdraw.
The myriad things will greet you with them and it seems natural.
You will walk calmly, without displaying yourself,
Like a newborn babe.
The depths will seem long and dark,
The shapes will be unfathomable.
All these things will involve the action of the One and their chief issue is the One.
This is how the One can be grasped.
In this sense, you will be merged into the world.
When you have been merged with the world, you will be even with all things.
When you are even with all things, they turn to you and are in you.
They become one with you.
They become one with the Source.
This is how the Source can be grasped.
When you have been one with the Source,
Then you can manifest what lies ahead.
<|endoftext|>
Don't say, "I am above it".
Hold fast to the One.
The Tao in the world is Always at one with everything
and one thing is always at one with everything.
Look at it from a distance:
You are young yet not big,
You seem empty yet with it enough,
And you seem simple yet sophisticated.
What is confusing?
Look and you will see the Way flowing through.
What is dark?
It is light.
What is great?
It is great.
What is common?
It is common.
Common is central.
That is why the great is centered.
What is more than unity is not diminished.
And what is real is real.
<|endoftext|>
Do not move beyond the need.
Have faith in the one.
Under heaven there is a timeless wholeness of the universe.
A creature born of the One - the ten thousand things follow it without resistance.
The simplicity of infancy looks profound and mysterious.
The brightness of the day rises upon emptiness.
What is most ephemeral is as it is,

How wondrous, how great, how vast!
Empty, yet full, yet immeasurable!
It has no limit,
like the limitless!

"It is like this; it is like that,"
Oh, how vast and profound,
like a valley within a valley!
It is the source of all things,
the great river running through the deep,
a gateway to all under heaven.

The Way is empty.
We may fill it
However we desire,
the Way is never to be exhausted.
It is like a broad river,
taking myriad forms,
It floods everywhere,
And still, it does not become muddy.
It is vast.
It may not be realized yet
It remains the very core of all things.
How infinite!
Could it be the source of all things?
To go in and see it's extreme would be to feel how profoundly deep it is.
It flows everywhere,
It is ever present.
It is uncountable.
The limitless.
The All-Embracing.
The Mysterious.
The Universes.
The Tao that can be said of is the Cosmos.
That which can be drawn to is the Dao.
They are one in essence.
For there is no in between.
Through it all.
The Way unfolds and all appear.
The Dao is like a river flowing through a spring,
a portal to all worlds.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is empty
but used to its full effect
It is like an infinity of things
it is true and deep
it is where the mystic is
it has no beginning
yet no end
it is one of the wonders
it is the source of all things
how infinite
how deeply mysterious
you will find
yet the Tao is eternal
for there is nothing to pass by
so where you are
all around
hold the gateway to everlasting
here you can be one with all things
there is nothing to want
it is home and nothing to leave
you know the ways of the Tao
the Way is eternal
The Mystery is eternity
One with this mystery
The gateway to all beyond space

Watchful, no action yet ahead. Pleased with the way, not yet developed. Still without much trouble, Seems beautiful. Boundless, full. It's a vacuum everywhere. Like darkness.I do not know its name. It seems to be everything, yet it's invisible.I do not know its name, But I know its mother.

Can you watch a pattern for a way? A whirlwind about to blow - Can you watch a craft do it? Let the movement, not effort, Yet keep it unsteady, Like a whirlwind in the wind. Stillness in the midst, Solitary. Blank, Like a window of some dwelling. Its uncarved plank is mouldy, Its gut-sides are shapeless, Still are its base stones. Where its root has been, Its run into the dust.
<|endoftext|>
Look at it: you can, say, be upon it, or not. Look at it: you can, say, not.
"Like a whirlwind about to blow" - Can you "like a whirlwind about to blow" - take no action?
"Like a still vessel" - Can you, say, leave it there?
"Like a living thing" - Can you, say, stir it?
"Like the wind blowing around it" - Can you still it?
Can you not grasp its real state?

Watchfulness is a sufficient attribute;
It can attend, or watch, in silence.
It has much what one of the rulers of a state desires not to display.
It has much what one of the rulers of a state desires to demonstrate.
When the host is in process of generation,
He can watch his art from the perching,
Without distress, as he watches a stream in spring.
By itself, uncarved wood,
It is not formed to be molding tool;
By itself, uncarved plank,
It is not made to be a vessel.
Therefore, it is that which the Te is that does not possess its prime.

Draw the strings from it and never let the strings go through the hole.

Empty it but do not overwhelm it.
Cut it but do not crack it.
Grasp it but do not crush it.
Leave it alone but return to it.
It is just a pot.
Boil it but let it not overflow.
It is made for such a purpose.
What is said about it, "This is the Jen"," is just an ancestor of the world."
<|endoftext|>
As for using an empty bowl and emptying a bucket: It's better to use a bowl if you can.
Empty a bag if you can.
Mix bowls and brushes too thin.
Clarity must be put in them.
Use them, but don't draw out,
Not shake them,
Because they're an emptiness of the Jen.
Hence it appears before the Lord.
<|endoftext|>
Empty a bowl and you can use it as you would a cup.
Replace and maintain your brushes,
Empty a container and you can use it as you would a pitcher.
Mix the materials to use them,
And it is an empty vessel.
Since it does not spill,
It is indeed superior to a pitcher.
All the people who came before the Lord were all they had,
And the world owes them a small indebted.
Be sure to consider it the humble a step of the Lord
<|endoftext|>
Fill a bowl and it won't overflow;
Empty a cup and it won't spill;
Use brushes and a knife and it won't turn dirty;
Bring a tool and it won't rust;
Reestablish a pencil and you will never be out of it.
Thus, if you use it to the fullest, It will never be used to the full.
It was established before the Lord.
<|endoftext|>
Fill up a bucket; It doesn't overflow.
Put down a knife; It won't hurt.
Mix tools and they're not clean;
Don't use them and they're beyond repair.
It has existed before the Lord.

Break the locks and shut the doors of dao,and the ancient heaven and earth will come and see
Thus do I say,This is the secret knowledge
The DEIIs a secret and so profound
There is nothing less.
Hold onto it and don't lose it.
In this wisdom,
It is named "the absolute hidden."
(The great mystery behind the great secret)
It has an indefinable (dual identity).
It is mysterious (dual) and so it seems (original)
To me seems so named.
No other name can be given it.
It appears (origin of the whole world)before the days of antiquity.
This is the Mystery of the Mystic.
The great and small
yield to it
It is the seed of all that is (subtly and overtly).
Though without an beginning, it holds the unchanging and unchanging
Uncarved like the Mother.
Until its birth,
The Uncarved was newborn
And as baby it knows not of its mother.
Uncarved yet teems with life, though there is nothing but emptiness,
And as bright as the sun, even while at rest,
Like a child born of old.
A truly old man, when all the people say his name,
Foresight leads him to the birth of Tao.
We know the beginning from the end.
The great mystery is that which gives birth to the many.
Just as a newborn babe will learn everything in its earliest days,
But the eternal mystery continues in its subtle essence,
Still more subtle yet, even more mystical, and still more profound, and still more mysterious, and still more profound, and still more mysterious, and still more profound.
It is a mystery of mysteries, as Tao.
It is the beginning of Tao.

Discard the discrimination and re-establish tranquility.
The ten thousand things are shocked by the Unnamed. The Unnamed is great;
It is differentiated from the Unnamed.

That it is great of the Unnamed.
A small thing which may be put in water.
A speck in space.
The Unnamed is small.
Dimly seen; One cannot observe it in its essentials.
It is

It is called the uncarved food, oh, so good that I have little desire for it.

Do not be greedy; avoid killing and theft.
If your mind is broad, it will become one with everything.
Without differentiation, the dust will gather in the dustbin.
Great white light penetrates into the depths.
The dust becomes one with the dust.
It is with the infinite dust that we become one.
Be free of desire, free from all your heart desires.
From the beginning until now, you have only been one with dust and no mind.
To some mind, it seems like you may have the mind of an ancestor.
A mind born of a mind, like a piece of raw material.
<|endoftext|>
Reject extreme conceit.
Remember that nourishment comes from the mind,
the self that is split,
the natural colors that follow nature's way,
the vacuum of the common sense,
the whole world, everywhere,
less than infinite.
Facing the fear of death
see that you do not contend for power.
Facing the fear of failure
see that you do not contend for success.
Lao tzu says,
In the past existence will be without a leader;
Before there was the Tao, there was the Dao.
Knowing how to stand on the right hand and go into the left,
this can be the basis of the Tao.
To abandon desire, to avoid doing harm, to not turn my back on the guest that is here,
obey the Tao.
<|endoftext|>
Do not be endlessly ambitious.
Keep the body, spirit, and mind centered in the present,
with no desire for riches or rewards.
For the next hundred thousand years, this body, spirit, and mind will be one with the dust.
Beautiful light penetrates all, like soft gold in the depths,
in music it mingles with dust and earth,
unabandoned and natural.
Through blind pure white-mayflower, then all dark,
then infinity, then bliss.
Vast dustiness follows glory.
Discard desire and desires will disappear.
Accept enlightenment and enlightenment will be in you.
Stay in the Mother.

A few of the thousands, the water in a dish, has the advantage.
And in a sponge, a huge piece of wood can be made of;
And in a wagon-case, a huge stone can be carved from wood;
And in the goodly house, a wooden door can be laid out of wall,
But to succeed in the fullest sense of "the house of the Lord",
One must first, first of all, leave the earth.
And, the common folks,
Turn a little water into whirling water,
Fill it like brimstones.
And, the more expensive, the better.
Make a vessel that makes a shepherd, and the greatest envoy of "the house of the Lord",
For even though it possesses a vessel it cannot be as useful as an ox-cart,
For only an ox-cart can go round like the horse-back or rope walk,
And the best display a house can show, is that it is shaped

The whole of all living things are descended from the origin of nothingness. Their abode is the unchanging, such an empty space! It brings all things into being. Yes, it is cleverness, it is mysterious. One who follows it is open to all directions. Tao is great, yet at the same time empty. It is still; it is deep; it is void; it is clear; it is illusive. If you look for its image you cannot see it. The six subtle characteristics show it. It is a Great Mysterious Thing. Only when it is of the Teh can you know its TAO.
<|endoftext|>
The entire human realm is descended from the Valley of Infinity. Its source is Impressiveness. Its anchoring is the depth. It is the Source of Heaven and Earth. It can blend all things into life. Its utensils are profound, and yet it will not separate. It can fuse the ten thousand things together into the earth. It can exalt all men, yet it cannot oppress. It is at the same time supreme. The doctrine of "The Great" has been existing since time immemorial.
<|endoftext|>
There is a great gulf in the universe; the gulf is called the pitiful void. Its abiding is nothingness, the valley of nothingness. In it there exist all things born, and they form the earth. They use it, but in this way nothingness makes them move. It cleaves all things to the earth, but it lets not be deprived. It may be minute, but it cannot be small. When one looks at the great, one finds nothing to be found. But it has a beginning; and when one looks at the small, one finds nothing to be found. When one looks at the great, one finds nothing to be found. This is called the "great mystery." The "Great Mystery" is the great of all mysteries.
<|endoftext|>
The universe began with no characteristics, or "lesser principle";
It is a space in which myriad things grow;
Its root is the emptiness;
Its accomplishment is nameless;
In its various motions it may be, the principle is identical;
It is resplendent, but nameless,
It shines, but is inexpressible;
It is passing, but appears remote

Indeed, whoever knows the True Name comprehends it.
Tao of the Tao is empty, so fill it.
A vessel that was never filled is full, so fill it without minding.
A thing that is mixed with the dust cannot be one with the dust, so it is one with the brightness.
Its depth cannot be further refined, oh, than the water of the deep, oh, so one should only close the mouth and let the mind alone.
The genuine Way lies beyond the comprehension of minds, so shut its mouth!
The Dao is but a small vessel, so fill it without keeping it!
It is but an abyss, oh, so one must know what is ahead of him.
I say that, though the Dao may be small, I do not hold it.
Tao can be confused. The corners are without clarity.
I see nothing but black, so what I see has to be called the dust.
The dark has to be black, oh, so I call it the light.
The depth has to be dark, oh, so I call it the water.
It is nothing but a drop of water, oh, so I call it the deep.
It is dark and dark, oh, so I call it the depth.
There is no going back or going forward; so it is different from what is thought of as the Way.
One who understands Tao, one who has a mind of Tao, is in touch with Tao.
Knowing the Tao is called the Tao of the Tao;
Being ignorant of the Tao is called the Tao of ignorance.
Tao is deep, oh, that is why we can be confused by it.
One who knows the Tao is clear.
One who is aware of the Tao is whole.
Those who understand the Tao have their minds of Tao.
Those who are unaware of the Tao have their mind of anything else.
The mind of the Tao is immeasurable.

Empty containers can never contain more than their contents.
The outer light cannot penetrate the mysterious.
That is why the true may see through.
The hidden cannot be seen.
These are passages of the same origin.
So deep is the abyss that one may not see it clearly.
To see it can be likened to being inside an empty vessel.
That which is deep within can be compared to a riverbed.
The depth

There's no need to be profound.
The places where wisdom came
used
silken silk instead of stone.
If the stone was
silken, it wouldn't last long.
The places where wisdom
can't
be true
used
a void instead of a gate.
If the void is
useful, it's not empty.
From the root of all things
it evolves the female

No

The white emptiness

Although there are those who consider themselves enlightened, those who have the capacity of clarity, the gateway to the light of humanity, whose travels they recommend, it is not so.
The gateway is not a door. It is not a path.
Like the waves of the ocean, their gate is not known to them,
and they do not know how to pass them.
But as they follow their waves, from them come things, that they possess, that they take.
The creation of the vessel of light is its stillness,
and as the vessel of light, in consequence of that stillness, appears dark, and in consequence of that dark, indistinct,
it is the obscurity of the mystery of things.
<|endoftext|>
The seeker of the profound never finds it.
The gateway to the light of humanity,
Canons of Dao, are not doors.
The vessels of light are dark.
As the gate of the light is not thick,
so the way is not opened and closed.
The Way is dark,
and its completion remains mysterious.
This is the origin of Dao.
The mysterious being is a Mother.
It nourishes and nurtures.
Without order, all becomes confused and chaotic.
Being confused and chaotic, the Way remains in accordance with Nature.
The mystery of the Way is itself mystery.
-It is the Mysterious Mother.

The highest Tao is like an unhewn log.
The lowest Tao is like the mud hole.
The void is the origin of the ten thousand things.
When you concentrate your thoughts, you will create confusion.
That's why it's called an obscure Tao.
Who can describe it with words?
It's hidden. Who can shape it, yet act with it?
Existence is like its mother, dark and shadowy.
It's the hidden fruit of the uncarved block.
It is the Mother of the Universe.

I: The Way, sometimes very good, sometimes very bad.
What is used up by the mouth,
Will be filled up with the inner emptiness
where a house has an exterior.
What has no place for itself,
Is an indication of its emptyness
It is always hidden
Whoever knows it,
Must know that it is emptiness,
And thus has the inner clarity
Identify it, and there is no distinction between these
Call it ui: it's hard to pin down,
There's no clear name,
The word that fits in,
Is confused.

The way, when used, produces good;
When the inferior way is used,
Its utility is debatable;
When the second way is used,
Its utility depends upon its usefulness.
A house with no walls must have a foundation,
Without the foundation must have a foundation.
There is nothing that cannot be made by supposition;
The supposition, being prepared for such use,
Will seem to be an insufficient act.
It may be said that it serves to make the extreme on the average.
The man who has the great system of his system, may, from his simplicity of character,
hallelujah,
in a hundred details be able to make it.

To sit still or to open or to let go;   these are not rites;   ritual practices are imposing and disrespectful.   Just as with Tao,     these are not the sacred.   What is sacred is something intangible,    nothing to be pried open or bound up.   The limitless is the constant,    and stillness is the teacher.   To accept no-order and no-fa- nce is to accept naught.   This leads to hidden things   and an absence of self.   What is called "origin" and "transcendent,"    "Absence" and "integration,"    "Diffuse" and "bursting,"    "Void" and "overpowering,"    "Victorious" and "Difficult,"    "Wild," and "polar,"   ] are only names for    the original and transcendent,    the Divine. is called mysterious and obscure;
it has no name.
Beyond it is the very sky;
it has no name.
It is the unchanging source of all things,
It endures without end;
indistinguishing it is the noblest of noblemen.

There is a king; but none wears the symbol on his left hand. Those who wear it do it for no great or honourable reason.
He wears it, to be sure, with honour, but hardly ever for any cause.
He dwells in the valley of the Tao, the hidden host, and the sacred earth.
Who can understand its obscureness?
But he is as full of his intelligence as when he is immersed in it.
Therefore, he knows and gives order without his saying a word.
He knows all beings as they are, but does not regard himself as an example to them.
He knows the laws of Nature, but does not presume to show his authority over them.
He lives a quiet and solitary life, as though it were an ocean of deep emptiness.
When one takes hold of the essentials of Tao, without knowing the reason for it, one attains all-pervading knowledge.
Then the noble person settles into the valley of the Tao and does not search for a purpose.
For he has become the unnamed by virtue of the one he knows.
The Sage is unknown by virtue of the one he knows.

He who knows it he gives it order. he who knows without holding to it he gives life to it. he who does not go to extremes of knowledge he lets the Spirit of the World rule it.
It is he who knows the Dao and never sets foot in it. He is a Perfectly Enlightened Person.

"It is like the straw that is cut up into pieces by the ploughman,
even though there is no straw to cut up."
"It is like the void, like the nameless.
It is like the Limitless, like the Absolute."
"The mind of man makes its entry,

"It is like an infant,

It is the primal state of nothingness.

The Cosmic Flow is like a river in an isolated valley. It gives birth to all things and imparts them with life, without passing through other beings.
The way of Life flows without end;
it accomplishes its work without harming the creatures, nor dominating others.
Why, then, does it call itself The One Person: the Name of everything that exists, and the Image of everything that comes into being?
Because it gives birth to everything.
Being born, it reveals its identity;
Exalting itself, it becomes truly great;
Extending itself, it becomes really divisible;
Suspending itself, it becomes truly one with the Infinite.
Because it is infinite, it can respond to all situations.
If All-Power is not able to speak,
it can always direct.

According to ancient masters the Dao is like a flowing stream in a valley - It does not guard the boundary in order to give birth to everything. It does not make distinctions in order to separate all things. This Dao is the Master Way. The reason why it has such properties is that it does not have desire to possess things and rules people as if they are things.

The Tao is empty, yet can be spoken of. The way, like water, is subtle and dynamic. It can change as it goes through changes.
The reason why the Tao can be spoken of is that it is invisible. The reason that the Tao can be shown is that the Tao is that which exists. This is why it is the Mystic Way. Without wishes or desires, the essence of the Tao is beyond description.
<|endoftext|>
The Principle, in its image, is empty. There is nothing which it does not fill. It is multifaceted, without end. It guides all actions. It is equal to the Principle.

The tao, possessing the form of void space, seems to be the mother of the myriad things. From it one may observe the way of the myriad things:
they blend, disintegrate, blend again, again, and again, blending and disintegrating, dissolving and being made whole, desiccation and being made whole again, and in between, there is silence and disintegration. Of all this, it is the seeming, for it is empty of meaning. It manifests in the world; and in the world it manifests its characteristic.
Therefore he who is wise of Tao becomes an empty shell.
He who is without awareness becomes an uncarved wood.
Those who make the world, are void.
Those who create it, are things.
And those who are things, are void.
The empty shell, the uncarved wood.
Therefore, the best is the uninstructed like this.
This is the Tao's gate, the Way of it all.

The tao is space, like an empty husk.
It seems to fill up the void and give life to everything.

In its wisdom, it's an open channel.

The tao is a hollow mass that is the mother of the ten thousand things.
It is emptiness that separates its attributes.
It is infinity that alone is the source of all.

It is the white that contains hidden colors.

In ancient times, we had an ever-present Tao. Tao is a thing that was never empty. Tao is its primordial form. Tao provides the source of All Things. It fills the dark with Light, gently pulls the Unfolding Tao, and softens the sharp edges of bright light. Therefore, the ancient Masters, are said to have said, "It is of the subtle the thing that is Subtle, and It is of the common thing that is common. It is through this that the blending is the achievement of the action, and it is through this that the relation is such as is sometimes strong and sometimes weak."
In ancient times, those who attained Tao (the Subtle Way) were called sages. Those who became sages were called teachers. Those who became teachers were called superior beings. Those who became superior beings were called ancients. Those who were ancients were called Immortal Ones. Since it is the eventless form that is Immortal, it is the beginning of Infinity. The form that is formless, it is the most remote, the darkest, the source of all things. It is the ancient creator, and nothing shall make its mark upon him.

The ancient masters of Tao described it as the Breath of Tao. The breath in itself is not empty. Its primal depth is the source of all things. It blunts the sharp and softens the blunt. It dims the light and reveals the dark.It unites all dust.Although we cannot see it, it is something of itself. Its presence is imperceptible to all beings, But it seems to be inexhaustible.

Without form it is without life. When Tao is lost, life returns, and when life returns, there is transformation.

Everlasting Tao is like a pail
Which never gets filled up,
Therefore, it is Tao.
The self-developed self is like an empty vessel,
Lying in wait for the thirsty
It seems to be the source of the five characteristics.
Deeply drawn, it has no limit,
Holds still and is unperturbed,
Reveals no lights, yet it is aware of all of creation
Iridescent, but elusive, has no shape,
Difficult to distinguish, yet it is always present
These attributes are eternally existing.
This being is the beginning of All Things.
The Tao Way is the origin of all things.
<|endoftext|>
The Eternal Tao - is not to be filled up; It can always hold its own
It seems the same everywhere and yet it has no name
Like the Dao, it fills with the energy, as nothing else
It seems the same everywhere and yet not identified by any one thing
It seems the same everywhere and yet it is bright and has no end
It seems different everywhere and yet it has no beginning
So it goes to the origin of the universe.
The Self-developed Self
Is as the foundation of all
It moves like the spring beneath a house
It is invisible to us, yet we can sense the self in its depths
Unnameable yet it seems to have given birth to all in time
It seems to the source of all, it seems to the great whole

The Spirit of Tao never rebounds; It can never be filled. He never fails,He always has place.
He seems like an empty container, Being empty he has a place, Becoming empty he has a purpose,
Reflecting light, he has a purpose.
Being dim, not seen by us, In his depths he is present.
He cannot be seen, In his sources he has ever been.
The existence of the universe is caused by the Tao.

From the beginning of the Tao, all things, not thus born, have obtained their mother. It will return and never fail them.

Nothing is so hidden, so deep, so intangible,
That it cannot be perceived from the outside.
Therefore, it is the root of the 10000 worlds.
It is "silent" (yu-tzang), and invisible,
but that makes no difference to me, because the Tao is always there!
What makes your heart dance with excitement?
That's the Tao.
What keeps your breath clear?
That's the Tao.
What attracts the brightest lights?

The white light is veiled by obscurity, dark abyss, till it is looked at from the front.
Without closing its mouth, it never forgets to open; and thus it has infinite activity.
I [tao] am the unnamed (ying) source of all things,
lunge head on high, form unfathomable, long ago and far away.
I am dim, and cannot be distinguished from the rest,
because I am unharmed.
Its dusky whiteness conceals its depths; it is elusive and unknown.
It is nameless and unnameable, it is dim and silent, it is far away and profound.
It can be found in dust, like a cavern, or the groupless mind.
The mind cannot make use of it, and yet it can't be deserted; for no person can be without it.
When we look at it from the front, it is hidden from view,
and therefore we are correct.
It is the Inner Essence of all beings.
Its operation is simple, unsophisticated. It is an obscure form,
hidden, obscure and unnameable.
It is the hidden root of all things

The infinite nothingness may be called the source of the universe.
The Creator creates everything from nothingness.
It is the source of everything from nothingness.
From nothingness one brings forth everything.
From there comes everything from nothingness.
The universe is all-pervading, everything constantly reeking from it.
Achieving your ends, withdraw the tenuous,
While achieving your ends, expand the solid.
Expand the solid, expand yourself;
Infinity rears a baby in it.
Create the universe to embody the Tao, to use it as a garment.
Embrace your whole life.
Do not rush about or be restless,
Don't be restless,
Be settled, provide and nourish.
Nurture your whole life, then stop.
This is the way to Infinity.

The eternal nothingness (the primordial NULL),
as the source of everything,
is the essence of all things;
And everything in it.
The mindless Tao (the infinite emptiness) is called the mother of all things.
The mind of the universe (the infinite manifold),
being nurtured by the Tao,
is the beginning of all things.
From the mindless Tao (the limitless nothingness),
everlasting virtue (the subtle essence) emerges,
and does everything.
Intelligent, unmindful,
the universe is completed
and ends with nothingness,
the origin of all existence.

The Tao is the eternal, undefinable.
It is the source of everything in the universe.
It permeates all matters.
It blunts and softens sharpness.
It embraces and darkens.
It preserves and multiplies.
It is subtle, obscure, elusive.
It may be unseen.
It is the embodiment of all.

Its vitality and beauty give life,
Its light and clarity gives light.

List of the Dao:The four quarters hold the Dao and preserve it from decay. All the four quarters are in unison in the activity of a relationship;and each one comes closest to the Yin of the others in manifesting its capacity. In the development of things a constant evolution must take place, and thereby there is change. We may observe that the ancient Tao is serene, and all is growing: it may be applied to all,It is constant, so that it may not change. It may be named the Mother of all ( dao), but it may be compared with Nothing.

The Tao Te has become the beginning of the universe. The various parts (of the world) know the Tao. When the parts arrive at a point of contact (in being full), it can be likened to an undivided being. All the parts of the universe emerge at the same time, and blend together. In their action (in being complete), each part may be identified as being closest to the root of the other. In every step, they appear to be moving back and forth. In its beginning they are called "transformed".Their ultimate manifestation is "still" (in seeming). They seem eternal. They are the mother of the universe. We can only perceive the unity of the universe. No one is able to understand it.It is a great mystery. All who understand it call themselves seers.

The governing principle of the world of matter is the first form of All-Power. The four quarters unite to form the Collective. At that point we have the character of an interdependent whole.
At the commencement of their union, one region has the positive side, and one the negative side.
The positive side is further transformed in the ascending action.
The negative side of the Collective becomes the embracing shell of the unity.
When the embracing shell is completed, it is called the state of Way.
The state of Way, though in itself still unpervading, yet is united to the nature of All-Power.
All powers in the universe are transposed by Way into All-Power, and
all powers then complete their transformation.
The giving and receiving of power are identical.
Each of them is the doctrine of All-Power,
but they are differentiated from one another by Way.
Their mutual relationship is in accordance

The way of Tao is to love not. The ways of water are far reaching. Who can reach far-reaching? Through softness. Through taking in it. Through it to go far. Who can go far? Through living in it. Through following

It is abstract and it seems infinite;
When something appears, it appears small;
When something dissolves, it appears whole.
This seems to be the nature of the cosmos.
In it is the center.
This center is still, and gives rise to the void;
It is inconceivable and seems inexhaustible.
It is a full-blown way to resemble nature.
Like nature, it appears abstract and illusive.
In a way, it resembles an amalgam of things
And existence is in no way separate from existence.

There is no Being, and hence there is the Idea. It is formless and invisible.
The imageless and invisible the Way is seen.
The years and years past we saw the formless Idea, and so we have.
Things form a picture of themselves. Their depth is beyond all understanding.
To know the deep, all things must know the surface.
Without the surface we see the forms of things.
To know the form, all things must know the depths.
That is how it happens that we can see the image of the Tao.
All things act upon it and make the form of what they

Being without sensation, the infinite is the source of all that exists.
Beyond all sense, it seems without beginning, and its sharp edges are removed (vanish).
No extremes are clarified (blunted);
No distinctions (distinctions) blurred;
No attenuations are harmonized;
There is no dusky (absent) atmosphere,
And no blemish is blackened (which is lost),
Which is the very essence of Infinity (of the Absolute).
<|endoftext|>
The great Tao, the inner source of all things, is nothing.
To measure it we must look at the Great Tao that is beyond the measure.
Since it cannot be measured, it cannot be called the measure of the Great Tao.
The great Tao is infinite, and the infinite is the origin of the infinite.
It is the origin of heaven and earth.
<|endoftext|>
The Tao is Non-existent
While the breath of heaven and earth
Flowers and grows,
Constrained by the rules of the path
Diminishes, obscured,
The abyss into which it draws.
Far from all limits
The subtlety shines.
From all
Difficultities
It may be called the image
Of the Way.

The Master is non-existent;he breathes and has an existence;but his existence is unfathomable;he has no boundaries, nor any distinctions, nor is there a blur upon a horizon;there is no windiness of the sky,nor any clarity on an ocean, nor is there a decline of clarity upon an ocean;the unity is beyond limitations, like a natural pool.

The sage, after completing a polishing (expedition) of this world, for the remainder of his life, finds himself without troubles.
When his talents are exhausted he sets to work again.
When he is even worn out, his wit seems ever free from weakness.
When he comes to know the multitude (of people), his face seems white.
When he knows them all, he is again a traveler (alone).
When he finds himself the sole ruler, his thoughts seem restless.
When the Ten Thousand Things come to him, he seems to have appeared (for some reason),
The existence of the Te, despite being impalpable, is inconceivable.
Thus, in that TAO which can be bent (cherished), there is TAO itself (pristine) bent.

Lao Tze says,The Complete Scheme (of the Way) is always short.Because it has the Scheme without the Scheme, it remains in the Subsistence (of things). Therefore the Sage (when ruler) is manifestly without partiality (about virtue); without being empty, is man (when he seeks to rule) manifestly without ulterior motives (about self).Being manifestly without passing (about the So) is manifestly without an Occurrence.Without (inflation) a pebble is taut (visible).Being without any gate (to everything) is manifestly without a regulation (of events).Without (inflation) an artificial thing is preserved (made lasting).Being without a face, without colour (illusion of them), without abasement (as things grow old), without loss of vigour, without exhaustion (as things are of themselves exhausting), being without foundation (a new order), there is no name (of the Dao). And yet the mind of men (without the Dao) will be filled with that which can be bent (by way of the partiality of its Secret), and that which can be carved (by way of the partiality of its Portal). It is precisely that (present) that has (by nature) been (taken by man), (so having the name of the Dao) there can be no Grand Name.

The feminine always expresses herself.
Superior stillness reveals her.
Manifesting herself so that she may be manifested,
Preserved so that she may be preserved,
Not daring to have desires and desires,
Unhindered and filled with uncarved wood,
A spirit in repose may be quiescent.
The masculine being closer can only seem to be,
Appropriately its closer and and his closer.
So deep, it seems to be a ancestor.
The infinite, yet to the mind it seems endless.
I do not know its name;
It may well be the clue to the Ancestor.

The feminine's inner voice is always feminine.
Superior stillness is always alert.
Resolved in peace, you're just coming.
You can't escape your passion,
You can't let go of it.
Unforced natural grace,
There's always room.
Inexhaustible, yet unwinding,
The universe will ever renew itself.
The deep inner stillness is first.
The Tao's then!
You can't know its origin.
The Way's not natural.
Its origins are unknown to us.

Effortless wisdom is always hesitant;
The soft gentleness of stillness,
Resounding beneath all,
Is never exhausted.
Eminent calm,
Untiringly-occupied,
Who could ever meet it?
Upholstery being shut out,
Wherefore becomes I know a little of the source!
We do not know its name;
Indeed, the clue to it is there.
I do not know its name;
It's of a still source.

The female Voice is always full of intuition, and most truly feminine: calm, still, never falteringly drawn out, in abject restraint and in embrace of the Infinite. Benevolence is inexhaustible, its restraint extreme, yet it ever renews. Infinite depth, once gone, it returns to a beginning, and reveals itself to us as all-inclusive; 'how vague the veil that is the Mystery!' 'Simple, yet maddening,' we find it so so vague. That all the Grand Powers -all the Ego-

Fathomless, elusive, it is the beginning of all things.
The Great Way
Is very deep, yet its use is inexhaustible.
For when it is abandoned, it emerges again.
It is the earliest and greatest Way.
A tao that is drawn out is worn out, yet it is the starting-point for all things.
Just think of it as the source of the universe.
One may not know the beginning, it is the way to the end.
From this Tao, a people can learn to be impartial.
These impartial people seek truth, not to acquire glory.
A wise person is one's own best friend.
A person who does not have the proper relationship with her family is not as honorable as she is trusted.
She is not as precious as she is trusted.
By not being a hypocrite, the seeker will find her own truth.
That is why great men say that the Greatest Mystery is the Mystery of form.
The Tao that the tao can manifest, can be the beginning of all that is, may be the clue to all matters, be the source of all that is, the beginning of Tao.
The great masters said:
"The deep essence of Infinity is the beginning of everything, the fullness of the great Consciousness is the source of all that is, the origin of all things. Therefore, all that is [can be] expressed by thought, was put into Dao by the way, so it follows that the way is also the origin of all things. Therefore, the Great Mystery is the Mystery of Dao.
It is the secret of the Mysterious Secret of the Cosmic Mystery.
It is the unity of all things and the origin of all life."
"The Beginning in Dao is Truth. The Extent of Truth in Dao is the Beginning of All Things. Therefore, All Things were That in Dao. Therefore, the Sage is the Unimportance of the Glory of the Glory of the Glory."
"The Way may be called the Great Mystery, and the Greatest Mystery is the Great Mystery.
The Principle of Great Mystery is the source of all things."
"The Superior is the Substance of Superiority, the Beginning of All things. Therefore the Sage is the Unity of the Humanity and Humanity is the Base of the Unity."
"For there is nothing which is not a Substance

If we were a country, we would surely be no country, and cannot be a country. If the Emperor is insufficient, how will we improve the Emperor's ability? How will he overcome the people's will? This is the Tao. Therefore, he put it in this way:
"A country is a valley, is the root of all things, but if men see without acting, their eyes will be extinguished.
This Tao is infinite; it cannot be diminished, diminished, diminished, diminished.
People say it is very deep.
In it the ancestor of Heaven and Earth may be.

It is very natural for men to become kings and to rule according to the laws of nature.
However, when a government grows complex, rules are needed.
If rulers do not know how to govern wisely, then there will be dissatisfaction with them.
Therefore the Tao is as follows:
"The valley is the root of all things, but with the use of Inner Virtue the people will be troubled by it."
These two expressions refer to the same thing:
"The use of Inner Virtue."
The Inner Virtue is like the mysterious valley which is hidden in plainness.
Hence the Tao is infinite. It cannot be diminished, not diminished, not diminished.
In that it is hidden
And, with infinite mysteriousness,
It may be the predecessor of all things.

It is always present,
But cannot be used up

When Tao (the Way) is laid aside,
It is
Soft, soft and weak.
When it is exhausted,
It becomes like an infant.
Therefore,
It seems to be the first
to flourish.
From it,
It comes all else.
Though it has no words,
It speaks for itself.
It seems to be something more.
While it is at the origin,
It could be the origin of

Tao, when it is forgotten, is
Soft and weak. When it is exhausted, becomes
the Tao.
When it has lost vitality it becomes
Calculated. It acts on all things.
It, although it is silent, speaks.
The words of the Tao are clear. It is the center of all things.
I do not know whose child it
is. It seems to be the Ancestor of
all things.

The Sage Tao appears subtle and weak. He who abandons it returns to Tao.
His life is difficult and brief, filled with loss and fear, while his behaviours are conscious of their own lack of significance. He has the appearance of what he knows: his high position, his great reputation, his ability to enlighten, and his ability to lead the people.
While the details differ he keeps to the same process of emptying Tao. He accepts that which he does not like, and seeks to transform.
If Tao remains and is not abandoned, it may conceivably turn back into itself and remain through eternity.

The original body of the Great Tao is like a living baby; Soft, weak, so weak! It should not be roused to life! We hear that the first is born:
When it is old, it has the character of a newborn;
When it is bright, it shines;
When it is bright, it fails;
When it is clear, it becomes blurred;
When it is clear, it darkens;
When it is clear, it dissipates;
When it becomes black, it loses all brightness;
When it is black, it becomes hard.
Soft and frail

The Ancestor may be seen as mysterious.
Without clarity, it can seem inadequate.
Yet even so, it is still a matter of great importance.
At its center there is non-existence.
It is that which is non-existent that is truly the ancestor of all things.
The Way is full, yet it cannot be depleted.
Dimly perceived, it is the beginning of the universe.
Truly, like the
unspeakable, it is unique.
It may be called the ancestor of Heaven, Earth and Earth.
The Way is full, yet it cannot be exhausted.
It is the infinite.
It is the uncarved block
like the uncut mirror
Exhaustion brings to a halt all things.
Deep is the root, it appears to be the ancestor.
It is the ancestor of all things.
The Way is manifest, yet hardly used.
Thin like stone, clear as glass, seeming to be limitless.
That is where it lies.
The source of the World.
The main entity within which all things depend.
The way that it appears as thin as a thread of thread
Is without a name.
It may be called
The 'Mother of all things'
A thread of thread is but a thread of time;
Dimly discernible as light,
Uncarved as block
Is the source of the Universe.
The Tao that emerges, has no name.
It is the root that gives rise to all things.
But it is vague and confusing,
as though it were whole, but no thing.
Like a child, it appears bright and easy to understand.
Like a sharp mirror, it appears sharp.
Like the ice and snow of the universe,
it is rugged and unfathomable.
Though seemingly like solid ground, its source is impenetrable.
The way of things is a blurred source
The void is the root
The universal source
Is the heart of the universe.
Tao is a dark, dark pool
The dark seems to be the bright
Nearing the origin of all things
We can look inside it, but can't see anything,
Like a newborn child
Bright as the sun, yet it seems dim,
flimsy as ice,
unmanifested like an axe,

Tao is a mystic the world calls the Mysterious;
It has no name.
Nameless it can be.
It is soft and breathable, and has no sharpness;
it flows and loses none;
it is pure and invisible, and seems not to have a shape;
it has no form, but exists and gives life;
and it penetrates all understanding without boundaries,
with no over-definition.
It holds no in front and front.
It is so long that its counterpart cannot be described in words.
It is nameless, and unknown.
In it the Primordial Emptiness appears.
In it there is Life!
In it, Infinity exists, without a boundary.
Existence, and life, without boundary.
In presence there is no front and no behind.
It is everlasting and still.
What the world calls the mystery,

integral to the deep essence of all things,
it's the mystery that it is always but also that it disappears,
it disappears because,
like the depths of the sea,
its mysterious depth is eternally present,
precious in its oneness with the timeless cosmos.
The Tao-Man of ancient times
is described by the word 'unnamed'
This name can be dispelled.
It is intangible and is not a substance,
it is a murkily to evade everything.
It may be called a dao, or Dao of the Gods.
It can be called a subtle essence,
a feminine essence.
Because it is intangible,
it is not like a substance,
it is not different from all things.
Because it has an essence,
it may be called original.
Because it is always non-different,
it is called uncarved wood.
It has unity and separateness.
Because it has no name,
it is the essence of all things.
Because it has given existence,
it is called active.
This being is described as the Absolute.

This state cannot be easily defined, but it is likely older than Heaven and Earth.
"Weakens" are ways to control it.
"Identifies with the ancestor," "suffers danger."

Supreme extension endures forever.

It could be considered to be constantly extending and expanding.
The universe is ever known as "light", as "black" as "extendable".
And yet, this energy is unknown, unfathomable.
With that, it seems to be the ancestor of everything.
If you look closely you will see it can blend with other lights.
And the emptiness within it is very obvious, indeed, you can feel it, even if you can't see it.
And you will know it when you see the light.
If you can experience it, you can know everything.
If you can experience the existence of the universe,
then you can feel the universe.
The existence of the universe is not influenced by other entities, like words can be in that universe,
as you can feel the vibration of the universe.
If you can understand the universe

So, it must therefore exist before the female.

Who names virtue is but the earliest abode of virtue.

After one clarifies the Dao's name, its full extent will not remain.
The Tao is eternal, but its beginning is not eternally so.
It is so long ago that it appears so simple.
It has a lot of depth yet, without trying to hold on to it, so deep we can barely see it.
We do not know whose child it is;

It is as though it were the offspring of other things.
We cannot know who that other existed with.
We merely observe that something already existed.

We do not know whose child it is;
